CAPSLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOCK. God I love that vid. It really is indecently self-indulgent to love one's own vid this much but I just. don't. care. Re: your comment below (and I think that four times is an acceptable number of rewatches, but eight might have been better for your soul) - you edited it GREAT shut up. And YES OMFG MIRROR. I really don't understand why Sarah doesn't metaphorically break through the walls of reality/timelines more often. Like, you know, to make the show exist, for instance. IF YOU FIND IT ON NETFLIX, LET ME KNOW, OKAY?

Gah, everything you say about Fringe is so spot on. Because it's so freaking consistent, the way it's treated, I can't see how it's not on some level intentional. And yes, absolutely yes to the example of the first time Olivia admits to having possibly been treated with Cortexiphan. I can't help it, I feel like he wants her to be "normal" rather than wanting to reassure her that she can be normal, and even if it were the latter, I don't think that's what Olivia is looking for. The scene with her and Walter towards the end of season three when he's trying to help her unlock her abilities is just so much more moving for the way it embraces both truths - that Olivia is extraordinary and heroic and competent, and that Olivia is, in some ways, broken. That's something I've never, ever seen Peter articulate directly. His broad-strokes, "I've never met anyone like you," praise always seems at odds with his unwillingness to acknowledge that any part of that came from the parts of her that make her like the more visibly "broken" Cortexikids.

But...even though I can read that consistently throughout the show, until it ends, I do not think I will ever trust it. It's just too clear to me that it's probably not what the writers mean, and I've been burned by consistent readings it turns out the writers don't share before *cough*BSG*cough*

I think I probably would really like Prime Suspect, given that I also enjoyed the original. I think the disregard for being likable might not entirely be my thing, because I'd appreciate it, but also I like that Olivia isn't deliberately unlikable to any degree, it's just others' assumptions, and she's actually really pretty friendly, if in a way that is a little subdued. But everything else sounds pretty awesome. I might put it on my "mainline this at some point" list?

Five things!

1. Vidding (including mandatory talking about Project CAPSLOCK!)
2. LESLIE KNOPE (I am currently obsessively preoccupied, excuse me)
3. Sarah Connor(/James Ellison)
4. Patty Hewes
5. Feminism

Wildcard: I really wanted to fit Idris Elba in there someplace. But I figured Patty Hewes was probably more relevant. But, feel free to talk about this dude too! Cus, I'm still half thinking I ought to watch Luther even if it is horribly stressful...
