Ah but Nathan saw that burnt up image of Peter in the mirror. I think Nathan doesn't know anything about Peter and is just living on hope. And I think Mama Petrelli is actually out of the loop for once too, which does not make her a happy camper. And then she has to deal with pending murder. Goodness.
