My brain has short-circuited and...

...for some reason my mind keeps rebelling and making me think in welsh.

I would not find this particularly irritating except I'm trying write something in english.

That and my vocabulary in welsh is not on par with my vocabulary in english (especially not since I've not been speaking it on a daily basis since I was 19). So then I'm thinking my thinky thoughts and I hit a word there's no translation for, or I can't remember, and my mind throws up the word in english, and then, instead of just moving along, I get all distracted trying to remember how to say it in welsh and then BOOM. Distracted. Thought gone.

Stupid bloody language. *hits welsh*

Perhaps my brain will sort itself out by tomorrow. Gah.

In other news, the vid bunny for the Lee & Laura video I wanted to do to Hallelujah by John Cale hasn't gone away, so I'm scripting it now. I imagine I'll end up actually vidding it in the next few weeks.

When I've been reading any European language related to English and I then try to write English I frequently end up spelling English words according to their nearest relative in the other language. I'm not close enough to bilingual to have your current problem though.

Good luck with the writing.

I don't have the spelling mistakes problem, but that's probably because welsh spelling, while highly phonetic and sensible, is also very, very different from english spelling because the letters sound different. But it was hilarious when my mum tried to learn welsh and kept pronouncing it with a spanish accent, and/or substituting similar sounding spanish words for welsh ones with hilarious results, like, say, "I am handsome!" (instead of "I am proud.")

To be honest, I feel less and less bilingual, though I think that's largely self-consciousness at work.

And thanks for the luck. Yesterday was pretty much a write-off (hur hur no pun intended) but I intend to try again this evening. :)

I wish my brain thought in Welsh sometimes. :(

Eeeh...tis over rated. :)

Plus you have like, a million languages rattling round in your head and far more linguistic talent than I'll ever have. :)
