BSG PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: I AM NOT PSYCHIC (MAYBE)

Okay, so I'm getting a lot of people commenting on my previous post (promise, proper review is forthcoming) assuming that I didn't make up something I made up once and like...thinking this episode implied something much more heavily than it actually did as a result.

So, as unspoileriffically as possible so as not to have to cut-tag this:

I totally made that name up for that story.

I made up that Kara's dad's name was Daniel Thrace (and that he was model 7 OMG). I think I may have been vaguely inspired by Caprica spoilers about Daniel Graystone (not that I want there to be a connection) but I'm not even sure of that. But there is not, to my knowledge, any canonical source stating that Kara's dad's name is Daniel.

I feel oddly egotistical posting this, but, well...everyone seemed to be assuming I got that name from somewhere, and I feel I should be honest that I didn't. Even though in some ways that makes it more freaky.

I will give you no pat on the back for making him Seven since, at the time, we only thought there were twelve models and it was the only slot open to make him the final Cylon. :p

But, I have to say, I thought there had been a previous reference to Daniel Thrace so OMG YAY! YOU FOR PREDICTING THAT! It's pretty incredible. Of course, with the talk of Head People warning the Five about the attacks on earth it's possible Baltar could be Seven, but that just seems too obvious.

And this all got me to thinking about something else we were discussing which I'll have to email you about. ;)

YAYEMAILS! And I do so get a pat on the back for #7 because I could have made him nine or ten or eleven or twelve! We don't have numbers for any of the others, and while it would be intuitive to separate the final off from the other four, my original intent was to have him be Eleven because I liked the number and I didn't want to callback to Seven of Nine. Then when writing I was like...meh, it's better if he's the "oldest" left, so I made him Seven. SO THERE. :p

I will cry if it's Baltar. It would be so stupid. :( And, I think, really undercut a lot of his storyline.

But it would make sense in terms of him being someone else Cavil fucked with, seeing head people, being a brilliant computer person. Blergh. It would be so BORING. And too vindicating for Baltar.

But given their previous attitudes to Cybrids (ONLY EVER HERA) and technically possible retcons over cool but somewhat weirder mystical ones, I'm...worried.

I cling to the fact that Laura and Kara had Head People too.
