BSG Vid Recs Comm!

I meant to post about this like...two days ago or something. Or maybe it was yesterday. Whatever, the point is:

[livejournal.com profile] bsgvidrecs!

It's exactly what it sounds like! A free for all vid rec comm with one day a month for multi-fandom recs.

Anyone can post but since I'm the designated reccer for the month of July, I'm gonna hold back until then.

EVERYONE GO SIGN UP!

I hope I didn't really screw the pooch in pushing for the driver idea. On Friday we should post some announcement of the Free-For-All, and I'll be sure to remind people that posting is open to all members always.

I really don't think you did, not implying. I still think drivers are a great idea and people are really interested in that. :)

You may have noticed that I'm REALLY excited by the whole thing so the other part of it is just VIDS!!! :D:D:D

If it helps, I'm definitely going to be posting MORE than my requisite one-a-week and if it weren't for the fact I start REALLY SOON, I'd probably jump in early. ;)

Though I do second [livejournal.com profile] cyborganize's query about the official policy on reccing vids already recced? I mean I guess just to avoid duplication I would try to recc new things but if I wasn't sure/it had been a really long time since something got recced, it's not a huge deal if it shows up again? I'm guessing...?

I also agree with [livejournal.com profile] chaila43 - don't worry. It's a new comm and probably yes, people are a bit worried about jumping in and posting, but the drivers will ensure there's regular content and it'll settle into its own rhythm and 'culture'?

Don't panic if it's just you guys for the first few weeks. SOON I WILL ARRIVE LIKE A TORNADO. :p

*nods* Yeah, pretty much. Now that you mention it, the comms that take a hard line against duplicating recs usually have all past recs saved to memories so people can find them. I wonder if we should start doing that...

That's oddly reassuring. ;)

Heh, I didn't mean that to come of sounding quite so POST NOW FOR MEEEE! I'm pretty confident that once the reccers hit and you rock the comm your month, it'll settle into it's own rhythm . I was just hoping no one was discouraged from jumping in and playing in someone's else's month. Because I'm even thinking like that a bit with the recs I have planned, will I knock out one of the ones someone really wanted to do? I think there's a lot of potential overlap with the people that are likely to have the most recs. So, if I'VE been thinking about that with a grand total of one rec down... ;)

And those are good questions, so I imagine there'll be a mod post in the future of some sort that puts that info in the official rules and all. But yeah, I don't think it'd be a problem if something gets reposted from a while back. Aww, future comm spec! I wonder what it will be like when it's all grown up. *sniff*
