I do get your uncertainty about the show. I have had that in the past too, and to an extent, still have it. It's why even though I was consistently pleased and happy with the show in the first season, I didn't full-on jump into it and embrace it. Frankly, I still watch most of this show constantly expecting Peter to take over or for them to do something dumb. But then they got to the end of the second season and despite going through all of S2 expecting awfulness it kind of...didn't materialise? So in my desperation for a show I just decided to assume that this weird almost-tipping-over-the-edge is actually just a REALLY ELABORATE PLOT to keep the show on the air because otherwise Fox would have cancelled it long ago... :p
Which is to say, I actually share a lot of your concerns, and am totally uncertain if that's a reflection on the show or me but have decided, at the moment, to throw caution to the wind and assume the best and throw myself at it. Hopefully it won't end in tears... *bites nails*
Also, I still really want to know about what Phillip used to do, and to watch him save the day once or twice.
I'm fairly sure that was when he was going by the name of Cedric... :p
