goodbyebird: Red Sonja cover by Fiona Staples: Sonja is kneeling, pommel in hand, a raven perched on her shoulder. (C ∞ if I live I'll pray tomorrow)

I hadn't heard of this at all, thanks so much for the thorough write-up. I'm actually not willing to give this d-bag the benefit of the doubt. Just because this is systematic bullshit doesn't mean his behaviour is excusable. When you continue to hit on someone over and over while they decline, and then shout at them publicly the next day for now showing up and putting out, plus insulting them via chat later on? That is not an accident, that is not a misunderstanding; that is a manipulative piece of shit understanding how the system works and that he can get away with it - either getting laid or feeling powerful. (I most certainly don't care for his weak "apology" that's basically a means to muddle what actually happened and make things more comfortable for himself. Fuck that.)

Of course, if put like that, nobody would listen, so once again the women are forced to bend over backwards and couch the conversation in a pleasant way so that they won't instantly be facing a flame-war, being written off entirely as hysterical man-hating bitches. But really, I am so tired of reading about this bullshit, and of people having to politely suggest that maybe the industry should do something about it. I basically want pitchforks and a revolution, I want some goddamn accountability.

Sorry for ranting here! This stuff just pisses me off and it. keeps. happening.

Oh btw, have you read Pretty Deadly? I've been thinking I'll give it a go when I get home.
