Yeah, I am...worried. Apparently the podcast explains not-a-lot and even says that the whole Liam storyline was a random storyline pitched by the writers and they had no idea where they were going with it.
On the one hand, I'm actually a lot more forgiving of random storylines that find their place as the series progresses than a lot of people. As long as they do a good job, I don't mind things being made up on the fly because I have a strong belief in the internal structure of stories and a story's ability to present good narrative options.
On the OTHER hand, in this instance, he'd damn well better be avoiding explaining the ultimate fallout of that storyline due to spoilers for later episodes because the idea that they did something that mystically significant then killed the kid to get out of a corner and never really deal with that is...awful.
