And dude, don't be in awe of my patience, it's just a geeky secret of mine that I like listing and explaining and overexplaining. So this was actually, like, FUN for me. It's the sort of thing that I don't have the patience to do over a long-term project - like the lighsaber, I lost interest after 16 seconds, similarly my current color-pass-using project only utilises that effect for the intro and they're all longer clips. But I like to discover things even if THEN I lose the will to do anything more complicated that IT WAS SOME SORT OF DISSOLVE!
I'm sorry to hear about your vid!angst *hugs* I think you're right not to force it and to just chill and it'll return. But if it helps, I took a break and did all this the other day cus I wanted to play vidses but I really didn't have the attention to attack my next project because I like, have no idea what to put on the timeline and it just seems overwhelming.
But once I actually started it was oddly easier than I expected? So like, don't do it if it stresses you out, but also, even if you don't totally feel like it, maybe say, "I will vid for 10 minutes" (or 5) and see if you discover it's not as overwhelming as you thought it would be? Cus that's what happened to me this last week. I avoided vidding by learning all this stuff and then finally went, right, I HAVE to do this, ugh, and discovered...I'd built it up stupidly.
(But, the PRIME DIRECTIVE of vidding must always be: fun first.)
(From my other post - I has emailed you! And it wasn't a useless email cus it clarified something to me about the difference between Cinelerra and other programs. Also AHAHAA, I'm so awesome I had totally forgotten that was the name for it - I updated the vid title! *facepalm*)
I AM GLAD THAT OUR REFUSAL TO SURRENDER IN THE FACE OF OUR MUTUAL VID CRISES IS, UM, MUTUAL.
