I HAVE NOTHING TO VID.

THIS IS NOT GOOD, PEOPLE.

I have one more vid in the can (which will get released shortly...ish) but after that, I have nothing and I'm not even working on anything!

I mean...that's not entirely true. I have some future projects:

- Collab with cyborganize, but that's not something that can start right away.
- Helping The Boy hack Star Wars to pieces and put it back together again, but that's an Epic Project that I'm not currently in the mood to attack because it means watching the cartoon again.
- EPIC OLIVIA DUNHAM VID. But for that, I want to wait until I get the S3 footage because, well, I think it's gonna really improve the vid if I get even a fraction of what I think I will. I don't want to make a vid knowing the part of her story I'm likely to go nuts over is gonna be showing, making me WISH I'D JUST WAITED, when I release it.
- Potential(ly hilarious) Olivia & Fauxlivia vid to DEEPLY SINCERE emo!rock. But again, I need to wait for next season to see if it's even possible.

So like, I have these nebulous future thingies but nothing I'm doing right now and it's weird.

After the first half of the year was filled with VIDWAR and then right after that I dove into a couple of songs that stole my brain and made me make them... It's just superweird not to have a THING right now. I haven't done ANY vidding in a whole freaking WEEK. It's CRAZY. And also sort of fortuitous seeing as it's been a busy Real Life type of week. But still - it unsettles me!

FLIST. WHAT SHOULD I DO WITH MYSELF? I promise nothing but any and all ideas will be entertained! Possibly while I'm sans-internet in the Lovely Town of Plymouth for the next few days... (I know, I know, you'll all miss me desperately).

I have one or two vid bunnies I'd be happy to pawn off on you! John Crichton is patriotic! River's on a horse! Um. That's about it, unless you want to start watching Damages, FNL and The Wire? :D? That would fill a satisfactory amount of time! OR MAKE ME A SEXY SARAH/IRINA VID. Ha. I love how all my suggestions are "make these vids so I don't have to." (Though you can HAVE THEM if you want them!!!) On a more serious note, maybe a movie vid? Though I have no more specific suggestions. I SEEM TO RECALL A BABYFIC.

And I refuse to make you crossover girlslash vids. Mainly because I want to MAKE YOU DO IT. (I mean, you already did it once (http://chaila43.livejournal.com/47989.html) while I have so far only managed to slash girls within the same fandom, thus, as the more experienced on, I DEFER TO YOU.)

On a more serious note, I actually really, desperately, would like to vid Hancock so maybe I'll try that, though I think the song I originally wanted to use is a bit of a nonstarter. But we'll see. I'm intrigued by the idea of such limited source, but also intimidated.

I am not entirely unconvinced this may have been the inspiration for the Doctor Who S5 finale. RIVER = INTERPLANET JANET. of course, this is INSANELY CRACKTASTICALLY LITERAL. So if you wanna vid this to any of your other spaceship lady loves I would welcome it as well!

Re: guilt - don't be daft! Guilt is generally a fairly useless emotion (says she who manages to feel guilty about everything! :p). Collab will happen when there's time for it to happen, in the meantime, I've finally run out of ways to entertain myself so I DEMAND you come and give me things to dooooo. ;)

And yes, I'd totally be up for helping you out with storyboarding in any way you think would be useful. You know my general feelings about ACTUAL CLIPPING, but I get the impression you're asking for time-stamps/episodes when things happen rather than actually cutting out scenes for you? (Which I'd only be hesitant about doing because of technical issues like dimensions/quality of ripping, etc.). As long as it's a show I've seen before, I don't think that should be a problem. oh no, I meant more that we would send you notes and you could do the actual vidding! like with the Tomorrows. although I do really hate clipping -- I wonder if we should actually try to just work from the full episode files, like you do (Final Cut should accomodate this).

I will let M email you about our proposed project, since it is her BRILLIANT IDEA, but I will tantalize you with the hint that it is, shockingly, a totally sincere gen Amy vid! also it will involve researching all the subtle Moffetian symbolism and mythological references that obsessed Who fans have been fanwanking.

I AM INTERESTED IN YOUR IDEAS AND WISH TO SUBSCRIBE TO YOUR NEWSLETTER. In other words, I would be honoured to be your vidgopher again, especially if it's in aid of letting you ALSO learn to be awesome kickass vidders! :D

An Amy gen vid sound superfabulous since it's the sort of vid I'd love to make but am not sure I'd ever have an idea for/the patience for. Especially given that it OUGHT to have all sorts of Moffetian symbolism but again, I'm not sure I'd pick up on it. But with you guys in directorial mode it will be awesome, I have no doubt. In other words, YES, EMAIL ME.

And also I do highly recommend using full episode files. While it has the downside of sometimes taking longer to find the clip you want because you have to scrub through the episodes, if you're planning long-term vidding relationship with the show, it's worth it because by scrubbing through you're constantly reminded what's in the various episodes and about where, and if you're not planning a long-term vidding relationship with the source, then you'd be surprised how many shots you wouldn't have thought to clip but turn out to be very useful you accidentally stumble on this way.

PLUS THEN THERE'S NO CLIPPING. Which it seems is a delay and hurdle many stumble on. But once you have stuff in your timeline even if it's going slower because you didn't clip, there's a more realtime urgency and need to keep going? At least I find.

I think I would actually LOVE to vid this! I'm...slightly worried about actually having enough footage since the song is reasonably long and the footage of her actually getting about the universe is very short, but...it seems like it oughta be possible. I'm also afraid you'll probably have to help me out with the River/Amy myth subtext as I have been blinded by the het and am not sure where I'd fit that in and/or with what clips.

But seriously, I think this idea has potential since all the other projects above are not imminent.

If you have any specific clip/storyboard ideas, then email me! Otherwise I'll just see if inspiration strikes and if I manage to get anywhere with it.

We love it to pieces and will email after work, etc. (sorry for the tease) but to clarify, project proposal does NOT involve you clipping for us so much as the usual collab process (with maybe slightly more intensive storyboarding bc it's very mythology heavy) and betaing. Annnnnywayyyyyy...

AHAHAHA, I didn't get this message until after I'd more or less finished my draft, but fortunately all those things were already in there except Amy's childhood stars and they're in there too now, since there was an apt place for them near the end.
