chaila43! Remember all those times you bugged me to make this vid and I said I never would (and you probably didn't mean it this literally)? I was lying. I was also lying that time I said I wasn't vidding anything right now. God, I'm such a liar. And rather shocked I didn't cave under the pressure and tell you about it long ago. I love Sarah so much and yet too often all I can really do when I try to say WHY is flail my hands uselessly and make nonsense noises and say SO MUCH THIS when other people say it so much more articulately. And even while I was thinking about Sarah being primarily a fighter and Weaver being a revolution, it wasn't quite right, because Sarah is a revolution TOO and that's what I love most deeply about this vid (and that's a big deal because I LOVE SO MANY THINGS ABOUT IT VERY DEEPLY). And so what I really appreciate and love about this vid is the way that by setting them against each other, it elevates elements of both their stories that are there but are not always so obvious; it draws out Weaver's role in the show more visually than the show perhaps did and it underlines the profound ways that Sarah Connor deconstructs every myth and fucks with everything everyone thinks they know, about war, about the future, about robots, about mothers and myths and sons and messiahs, about John Connor, about her. Sarah Connor is not just at war, Sarah Connor is the whole damn war; it plays itself out in her mind and in her actions and what she does at every stage matters very, very profoundly. This vid, dude, I LOVE IT SO MUCH.
WHY DO I NOT HAVE A SARAH/WEAVER ICON??? (Oh right, cause they never had any scenes together. THIS VID, HOWEVER, MOCKS YOUR LACK OF PUTTING THEM IN SCENES TOGETHER, SHOW).
