Ahahhahaha, delayed LJ typewriter comments! I really liked that, though, because I liked the unexpected return to the typewriter which hadn't been seen for a really long time and like, they wouldn't have studied it after finding it? Ha! Of course they would have. But yes, there was a lot to handwave. I was generally all right handwaving it because i liked the emotional payoff? But I can see it could be distracting.
I kind of liked the hands moment too. But I think for me, it was...well, I've always wanted them to have a sibling relationship. I'm past the point of actually hoping for that, I know that's not the direction the show wants to take them in. But there was something very quiet and childlike about walking up to this great bit machine, hand in hand, and then letting go.
I don't think that the future is a new universe? I think that it's just actually the future. We know that the Observers can move through time like that. My guess is at some kind of "this is what will happen if Peter does X" scenario that he's being shown? But I do think that we might continue to see that kind of thing in season four? Intriguing!
