Hi,
So I'm still whiling away my life, waiting for BSG, Heroes, the Sarah-Jane Smith Adventures to kick off. Trying to get the impetus up to read all the Heroes comics, to post speculations on BSG S4, and to get over my hatred of the Master reveal to properly catch up on Who. Or do silly things. Or do serious things.
Or go back to writing the story I'm trying to write about the girl who's dad's family wants to spread a forest across someplace that might be America.
Still, news from around:
- I read the latest Star Wars novel. My primary comment is that Jaina uses the phrase, "young ones" to describe the children at the Jedi Academy, while Luke and Kyp both succumb to "younglings". I think it's clear who has the greater strength of moral character. Oh, also, Jacen has turned Tahiri into a necrophiliac paedophile. Just sayin'.
- Madeleine L'Engle died a few days ago. That makes me oddly sad since I never even managed to make it through all her books. Now, we'll never find out what happened to Charles Wallace.
- It's the top of the ninth and the Yankees are beating Kansas City six three. This makes me happy.
- It's possible that it's not the best idea to listen to songs that are just roiling with anger or hate that could raze you where you stand, such as "The Future," by Leonard Cohen, "Motherfucking Asshole," by Martha Wainright or "Not a Pretty Girl," by Ani DiFranco. I now want to burn something. Badly.
- On that note, why has no one told me about Ani DiFranco before now? She's sort of neat.
- On that note, listening to the Brams Cello Sonatas has made me homesick for a time when I could at least mostly play them. I dread to contemplate the current state of my Cello or my ability to play my beautiful instrument. That sounded filthy. I really didn't mean it to. I'm just feeling nostalgic. Okay...that's not helping. I'll move on now.
- Why do weekends always pass so quickly?
