Really, I promise, I can send you copies of all pertinent material. And it's set 140 years after the films so you don't need to know ANYTHING except those. Though if you know more, there are loads of great easter eggs. But all pertinent info is in the opening crawl. Please? Please? I'M GOING NUTS.
Because, I swear, you know how "Luke, I am your father!" is just...it's legend? But most of us don't really remember it with that visceral shock because we ended up watching it on TV at Christmas years later when our older cousins had already wrecked it for us?
And how the few other attempts at such plot twistery inevitable, like the Revan twist, I end up knowing about before I care about?
I JUST EXPERIENCED THE HUGEST "LUKE I AM YOUR FATHER!" MOMENT SINCE "LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER!"
I'm so not kidding. It's just. It's massive. I can't process it. It makes no sense and it's awesome and it's hollowing and it leaves me feeling bereft and awed and confused and I HAVE NO ONE TO TALK TO.

Date: 2008-02-07 01:05 am (UTC)I know that there are two comics I suggested and that you'll probably take a while to get through them, but DON'T WORRY I WILL MAKE THESE LATEST ISSUES AVAILABLE TO YOU SOME-BLOODY-HOW (and I have a few ideas) even if it means immediately sending another CD over.
It's so...amazing/awful I'm not even going to spoil it. And you know me, so you know what THAT must mean.
I'm just...I'm reeling. I can't even being to really parse the implications. Because even if they utterly fail to capitalise on what they've just done they managed to genuinely and utterly surprise and shock me and it's been so long since that happened to me. And I don't think my spoiler-loving ways can be blamed for that because I first heard about this as a spoiler and had the exact same reaction. It's the SHOCK of the revelation whether on the page or spoken aloud, when you've followed this series for the previous 18 issues. Wow.

I just hope you'll agree now I've built it up so much.
