Okay, so, I have a new project that may or may not last until the end of season four; heck it may or may not last until next week! Either way, the plan is to make 10 - 20 second videos for each episode, any character, any tune, any theme, just a vidlet to archive a response, so that at the end of the series I'll have a uniquely me-ish several-minute-long recap. All thanks to [livejournal.com profile] projectjulie for inspiration in this area. I think it'll be fun because I love vidding but it's massively time consuming due to using a computer and program that crash all the time, and this is a...bite-sized way of continuing to do something I greatly enjoy.

Anyway, I present to you, VIDLET #1!

Supergirl: 16 seconds of Kara Thrace in He That Believeth In Me. Right Click Save As!

Obviously, this includes massive spoilers for that episode. ;)

I've decided not to crosspost to [livejournal.com profile] galactica_vids because it's such a tiny vidlet: if this project gets off the ground, I may post there at the end of the season with links to all of them.

Anyways, enjoy!

having now spent a good part of the day staring at clips from the episode, I have a much better understanding of how you put this together. the transition from the Cylon splatter to her bloody ship is really elegant. and the clip of her grabbing her head is a great pivot between the beginning and end sections (though I probably would have put it next to the later one). innnnnnnnnteresting!

Actually that was my first plan! I didn't because...the images weren't similar enough for it to look deliberate as opposed to repetetive? I dunno. It just didn't look right (though it might against different music, in another context?) I wanted it to signify a jump to the middle, then the end of the episode, same as an FTL jump, but one had to do in the end. I was reasonably happy with where the second one ended up, though. ;)

innnnnnnnnteresting!

:D

That's a perfect song choice for Kara in that ep. I love the song and always thought it would be great to see it vidded, but never saw it fit anywhere. Very cool!

Oh! You're from germany, right? I think it's a german song? I think that's where I first heard it while staying with a friend - I liked it so much I memorised the chorus and googled it when I got home to find out who it was by.

Yeah, it's a fantastic Kara song. At some point I want to make an entire Kara vid to it.

The 10 second vidproject died, though, after episode 2. I had some issues doing the third one and was just generally far more excited and enthused by my other vid project (the crazy prelinger archive stuff) so it's on hiatus for now, but maybe I'll go back to it at a later point...

Yes, German band, Irish singer. (Good for them. We don't always do so well with the German bands and singing in English. :-) It was a huge hit a few years ago, and I still love it dearly. I would love to see a whole Kara vid done to it!

Sorry to hear about the project, but yeah, that's how things go sometimes. Crazy prelinger archive?

Yeah, I'm not too upset about it - I can always start it again later.

The Crazy Prelinger Archive project is a joint project with [livejournal.com profile] cyborganize because she had this crazy-awesome idea to make 30-second vidlets for each episode to audio taken from the Prelinger Archives (http://www.archive.org/details/prelinger) which are this repository of mid-twentieth century sponsored film footage. Stuff about American Engineers and Splitting the Atom and Religion and Suburbia and all sorts of tripped out awesomeness.

The videos are all somewhere on this LJ, but if you're interested [livejournal.com profile] cyborganize has also uploaded them all to imeem -
