Real review possibly forthcoming, but for now, I will just say, in generic, non-spoilery terms:

AHAHAHAAAAHAHAAHAAA!

Adama, this is even better than last time when you told Saul it was "good to have him back" in CIC after you were forced to relieve him of duty because: "IT'S IN THE WALLS, BILL, THE SINGING IS IN THE WALLS OF THE SHIP!"

Seriously, Bill. Your judgement regarding Saul Tigh is a thing of beauty.

AHAHAHAHAAAAAHAHAA!

OMG, WE BOTH WATCHED THE EPISODE ON THE SAME NIGHT!

I just wrote up some thoughts on the episode. Surprisingly, I had less to say then I expected, but then not much unexpected happened, if you know what I mean. I'll, hopefully, post tomorrow. I need some sleep and some distance to see if my thoughts make sense. I totally agree with you on Adama's decision. Hell, even Tigh pointed out it was not a good idea to put him in charge! And it had nothing to do with being a Cylon!

And just as the show did me a huge favor and dropped the Lee/Kara shippiness (could you even tell they were once lovers?) they shove the Adama/Roslin Twu Luv down our throats. Does Adama not realize Laura is going to be pissed that he endangered the fleet for her?

OMG WE DID!

I CANNOT WAIT TO READ YOUR THOUGHTS. Though oddly, I kind of...feel the same way. Craploads happened, but...I'm not sure I have much to say about them beyond, "Huh," and "AHAHAHAHA!". Though then again, I always think that and then I start typing. :/

OH AND A/R UGH.

Though, (and you may nail me to a wall for caving, sort of), the A/R didn't bother me so much here because it was so one-sided...obviously considering the storyline. And I've never had trouble believing that Adama was crazy in love with Laura, just that Laura's affection for him in return wasn't in some ways...the love she chose out of convenience. Like, taking off my L/L shipper goggles for a minute and attempting to parse a series in which I know that will not happen (though I will always maintain it would have been the most interesting and dynamic option), I actually believe that in the very early parts of the first season and the mini, Roslin might have had a little crush on Adama, becuase back then he was...a lot more sane. But starting with Bastille Day, and really kicking off with the S1 finale, Adama just became the guy who Isn't Coping Well With This While Pretending To. And while he, at that point, started falling for Laura and ceasing to think of her as That Woman, I felt like she started falling...out of love with him. Or at least, that was when she really started to understand the other sides of him: the sides that would destroy the fleet to find Kara Thrace. The sides that couldn't handle personal betrayal and who had the intelligence to understand concepts like democracy and justice, but who lacked the personal awareness to realise they also applied to him.

And so while I feel that Adama has fallen in love with Laura, I think that Laura fell out of...idealism with Adama and realised who he was. And her encouragement of their proto-romance has always felt to me like she's settling since she worked that out. Sure she likes him. Sure she thinks he's a nice guy and has some good qualities. And it's useful to have the Admiral of the Fleet wrapped around her little finger.

...I feel so cynical. Also off-topic! Hmm...

I have a horrible feeling Adama endangering the Fleet and Laura's response to it will be glossed over.

Huh what huh? Did I miss something?

But yeah, I bet all Bill's kids are quite jealous of the way he treats Tigh.

The episode aired earlier in the UK because SciFi aired a repeat for the Memorial Day Weekend and yes, you missed something CRACKTACULAR, but I'm sure you will have your own viewing hilarity when it airs on Friday. ;)

And actually in this instance, it's not so much a case of Daddy putting his Boyfriend before the Kids so much as Daddy giving his pyromaniac Boyfriend FIRE. Right after he had to shout at his Pyromaniac Boyfriend because he'd been playing with the gas stove while Daddy was Out. XD

OMGTHEIRLOVEISSOPURE!

I can say that with confidence based only on the previews. craggy gay old man love! (I have no icons of dudes, though, surprise.)

is this the DIVORCE vidlet?! any babies? -- because it would just be a shame to do that one without babies.

Oh dude, it's...I cannot even discuss the hilarity of this before you watch the show. But yes. There is a very gay Old Man Fight, and what it's about just makes it...worse...

I don't think that it is the Divoce Vidlet, actually. :( There are very few visuals Babiez and it's more about their Gay Love Transcending All than Their Gay Break-Up.

Also, I shall make up for your lack of boyslashy icons by using this one. It is...disturbingly apt. o.O
