Oh, also. This is not a rec as such, because it was actually too fucking crazy for me, but if one can handle massive amounts of narrative crazy and is into world-building, Utena might be worth looking into. (It's also got a whole lot of skeezy sexual stuff going on, but I think that was a case of consciously skeevy, not OMGcute!1!)
