Chinese Bootleggers Love Star Wars Too!

Okay, so since I'm on a bit of a Star Wars roll, I have something I have to show you.

Once upon a time, some Chinese bootleggers got hold of a pirate workprint of Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. They added some Chinese subtitles, then decided, for a truly classy production, to add English subtitles to their bootleg DVD too! The way they did this was by somehow running the Chinese subtitled through, I don't know, like an autotranslator or something? The result was, well, among other things, apparently the original source of the "DO NOT WANT" meme. And also just generally mindbreakingly insane/hilarious/both. AND I NOW HAVE A COPY.

Other highlights of mistranslation:

The Jedi Council = Presbyterian Church.
Anakin = Allah gold.
Obi Wan = ratio tile.
Jedi = hopeless situation.

That is beautiful, beautiful crack. Politicseses! Ache, death, do not want. The only thing about Star Wars I don't quite grasp yet is why it would be fun to take it seriously when there's so much awesome, insane, hilarious crack! ;)
