That was both stark and pretty. Your editing, focusing on little snippets of objects, like throwing the gun down on the table, captured a lot of little things that were very effective and evocative. It's so weird how much distance I have from this footage now!

Thank you! It's odd how much distance I have too, actually, while at the same time retaining a really strong memory of the footage which enables me to remember tiny moments like the ones you describe and vid something much faster and choppier yet still with a certain amount of deliberation.

It's weird; on the one hand, I feel able to appreciate things like the Occupation arc without as much of the later bitterness seeping through, on the other, I...don't miss the show as much as I miss being able to vid something I'm so familiar with.

Either way, I'm glad you enjoyed it - stark and pretty was basically the goal! :)

Ohhh, this is fabulous. I've always thought that was a BSG song, I love that you've focused on the Occupation. And I also love that you've focused on some of my favorite characters - Tigh, Laura, Kara, Gaeta, and D'Anna. Thank you so much for making this!

Thank you! :D I've liked the song for a long time now, but oddly, while I'd considered it as a vidding song, it never occurred to me to put it to BSG. So thanks for the opportunity and I'm very glad you liked the result! And especially that I managed to somewhat accidentally fill it with your favourite characters! ;)

Ack, I love this song so much! And this is an awesome vidlet to it, I especially love D'Anna ending at "body will crumble" and how appropriately fragmented it is. Oddly one I'd never associated with this show, but so great for this arc.

Thank you! I loved putting D'Anna on there too - and I actually toyed with several different clips of her before settling on that one, so I'm glad it works. I hadn't associated the song with this show either, before the prompt, even though I'd specifically considered vidding to it, which as you say is odd in retrospect! But as soon as I heard it with BSG in mind, I knew I should use this arc.

Thanks for watching! :D

It's already over? But I want more!

Nice juxtapositions for what was a frantic, dark time for the fleet.

Hee! Thank you! I figure leaving you wanting more is the sign of a job well done. ;)

It was actually a lot of fun to revisit this with space and time having passed but still with a fair amount of familiarity for the footage. The franticness was certainly something I hoped to convey.

I really enjoyed this. You did a nice job of making it seem very fast past and have lots of movement, but at the same time captured the emotion of the characters wonderfully.

Thank you! I wanted it to be very dynamic and err, movementy, but it's such a character-centric section of plot, I'm glad I captured that too. :)

I love this song, and I think it works brilliantly for New Caprica. So many good little rhythmic moments--headshakes, jittery shooting, it's great. Also, snippet vids! What a cool concept!

Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed it and liked the part of the show I decided to use. Snippet vids are awesome, though alas, I can't claim to have come up with the concept. ;)

Excellent (and energetic!) overview of the New Caprica arc. Oh, Kara! I love all the quick cuts and the song is just perfect. (And now I find myself again wanting to vid the New Cap arc to the Bangles' A Hazy Shade of Winter. Ah, someday, maybe I'll have time...)

Thank you! I'm glad the quick cuts worked; it's interesting, originally I was going to go much slower with it because the primary thing I recalled about the song was the looooong syllables and the clear notes Janelle Monae hits in the chorus but once I started I realised I wanted it to be fast and messy instead.

I'd totally watch that vid!

Nice! I especially love the sequence with Kara and the Circle from 0:17 to 0:24. (Also "I was made to believe there's something wrong with me"? Gah Adama raaaage. *shakes fist forever*)
