For [livejournal.com profile] grav_ity!

Okay, I really hope this is the sort of thing you wanted because I'm a bit nervous on account of how it skirts extraordinarily close to a plotline I know you detest. I wanted to do Peter/Olivia for you because, well, it was the first pairing you suggested for the song and also your favourite (though yes, I think the whole song might make an interesting vid about Olivia's relationships with everyone collapsing because she's all self-sacrificial and alone). However, because it's a song about endings and tragedy and missed chances, I couldn't see how I could vid Peter/Olivia to it and not deal with the S3 storyline, since it's basically the first time they've had something (potentially) collapse on them.

So...I decided to make it, rather than a love triangle vid, largely an Olivia/Head!Peter vid, about her isolation, with no one to save her or even realising she's gone: forgotten. Though of course, Altlivia does make her appearances, if brief.

Anyway, I just thought I'd set out why I vidded it as I did since I'm a bit nervous I might have gone in the wrong direction with it! *bites nails* ;)

EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I was totally going to email you this morning and add to my prompt that the key word was "burning", but you figured that out all on your own! ;)

This is AWESOME. Because I can deal with certain aspects of the tragedy, and this is totally one of them.

I especially love the "can't seem to hold you like I want to" while Olivia's getting pulled out of the tank. That's just fabulous.

To be totally honest, I picked the song only knowing the title (ie. I had no idea what the words were), and this is PERFECT!

YAY! I'm so relieved you like it! Because yes, I can see how this part of the tragedy is different too, which, I think, is why I was willing to risk going for it. Thanks for letting me know your favourite bits - I felt so awful when they pulled her out of that tank - she was so close.

I didn't know the song before either, actually - embarassingly, perhaps, this is the first time I think I've ever even heard anything by John Mayer. ;)
