I'd say your welcome, except it's sort of a shitty thing to have to find out. :(
I admit I'm also not very impressed by his apology. I think what makes me most uncomfortable is the way he invokes his daughter as proof that he is invested in this conversation taking place. Even if that comes from a genuine place it seems problematic.
Like all things to do with this situation, it's worse because the allegation isn't that he's a douchebag, it's that he's a douchebag who's very good at posing as a feminist, which effectively means that I'm instantly suspicious of the verbal skill (because hey, the man's a writer) with which he manages to paint himself in that light by saying all the right things, while actually not addressing most of the underlying issues.
And, of course, there's now at least one more instance of a comics professional making a public statement about his poor behaviour (Farel Dalrymple - see edit above), albeit in the comments of a minor article, so I imagine it'll be largely ignored.
I don't want to want this to snowball but part of me feels it's the only way to clear the air.
I can't help but notice Wood doesn't comment, at all, on the accusation that Fowler isn't the only person with whom this has happened. Possibly I'm naive and there's some legal or PR-related reason it would be stupid to deny "rumours" (although there are now at least two further stories with names attached), but I don't know. As I said, I feel he addressed only the parts of the story that were safest to address. /bitter cynicism.
