I found a memethingy I liked!

I found it while aimlessly surfing looking for cool battlestarry galacticaish type things, and I know I'm supposed to say who I found it from, but I don't remember. I just kinda copy-pasted it and then forgot who I copy-pasted it from, so, uh, this isn't from *me*. Anyway, it's not like this journal is the hub of the internet, so here goes:

List Your Top Six Favorite Shows (not actually in order)

1. Farscape
2. The Muppet Show
3. Dead Like Me
4. Battlestar Galactica (the new one)
5. Neverwhere
6. Firefly

At least, that's what they are today, on another day, it could be different. Since I feel guilty for not including DS9 or The X-Files. Now,

1. Who is your favourite character from #2?

Miss Piggy because she's hilarious. I have a poster of her on my bedroom wall, "Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner at Tiffany's." It rocks. HIIII-YAH!

2. Who is your least favourite character from #4?

Now I didn't plan this - I really just put all those shows together randomly, but I love Battlestar Galactica so much because there really isn't any character I dislike *or* find boring. Seriously. I know that's nuts. Saying my favourite (President Roslin) would be so much easier. Oh, no, it's okay. I don't like Kat. Bit of a cop-out cos she's like, a third-tier character, but it's the best I can do.

3. What would a crossover between #1 and #5 include?

Farscape and Neverwhere?! Well, actually they're both about average guys (John & Richard) getting thrown into extraordinarily weird worlds (Uncharted Territories and London Below).

So, I think John finally gets home to Earth, like, he crash lands with Aeryn (and maybe Rygel and Chiana) post PKW, on the lamb because that whole peace treaty didn't go as well as he'd hoped. So he pegs it, ends up back home, but can't *go* back home because of all the political implications, and because he's worried enough that earth is going to end up eaten up by Scarrens for the pretty flowers, or held hostage by the Peacekeepers for his co-operation, and he just wants to *dissappear*. And slips into London Below. Where he meets Richard, who's kicking ass and cleaning up the mean streets with Door, in a very british sort of way. Actually in a very Season One John sort of way, what with being the greatest hunter in London Below, but not having any real combat skills and having to fight with a pocket knife.

Aeryn could teach Richard to fight, and John could be all angst-ridden as he sees his own innocence in Richard and knows that he's going to *change*. There could be cool cross-over elements of Door's ability to *open* things and John's knowledge of wormholes (which are basically openings) and how the two cross over. Maybe Door works out how to open doors to unrealized realities.

OH SWEET LORD, MAYBE THAT'S WHERE THE ANGEL ISLINGTON IS! IN AN UNREALIZED REALITY THAT JOHN IS TRYING TO PREVENT FROM BECOMING A REALITY AND THAT'S WHY HE RAN OFF TO EARTH IN THE FIRST PLACE! HE WANTED TO ACT AS IT'S INVISIBLE PROTECTOR - SILENT IN THE SHADOWS, SAFEGUARDING IT FROM SOMETHING TERRIBLE HE KNOWS MIGHT HAPPEN - EXCEPT HE *THINKS* IT'S FROM THE SCARRENS OR THE PKS, WHEN REALLY, IT'S FROM ISLINGTON!

Okay, time to breathe. But that is the coolest idea I've had all day. Shame that no one really knows anything about Neverwhere.

4. What is your favourite ship from #6?

Simon and Kaylee. They're just so *sweet*. And I love the friendship between Kaylee and River, and I love the way Simon loves River so completely. They're such a cute family.

5. If you were to set one person from #3 and one person from #6 on a blind date, who would they be?

Dead Like Me vs. Firefly...huh... I'm kinda torn between Rube and Inara, because they'd actually get on so well, Jayne and Roxy because Roxy might actually shoot him and then I get the disturbed idea that they could actually *work*, Mason and Zoe just because it would be fun to see Mason get sucker punched, or Mason and Inara just to see how Inara would keep her cool.

Okay, I almost went with Mason and Inara for the humour, but I think I have to go with Rube and Inara cos that's the scene I think would be most intriguing and interesting. They wouldn't be romantically interested in each other (or at least, that wouldn't be what they were both thinking about, primarily) and they'd have fascinating and deep conversations and *respect* each other. Which fascinates me because Inara rarely finds men who are mysteries *and* she doesn't find annoying, and Rube never thinks anyone is his equal.

6. If you could meet one person from #4 and spend the day with them, who would it be, and what would you do?

President Roslin. We'd eat ice cream at the seaside and talk about why she hasn't slept with either Admiral Adama or Captain Apollo or Maya yet, and then I'd beg her for a job. Any job. And failing that to marry me. And failing that, to adopt me. Cos she's that damn cool. (Of course the next day I'd feel really guilty cos I have an ace boyfriend and an ace Ma and no desire to replace them, but if *you* had a day with President Roslin, tell me you wouldn't attempt to get yourself legally tied to her in some way so you could spend more time chillin' with her!)

7. If you could change one thing about #2's plot line, what would you change?

Um...the Muppet Show doesn't *have* a plotline. Maybe I'd make it so I was born in the seventies and knew who all the "famous" people were. Then again, I kind of liked no knowing when I was little. All these famous people I had no idea who they were - it was like peeking into the grown-up world secretly, with a safe group of people. I mean, seriously, change the plot of the Muppet Show?

Uh, okay, semi-serious answer, I would let Gonzo's performance art ("I will now eat this tyre to the music of the 1812 overture!" or "I will now defuse this bomb while reciting 'Ode to a Grecian Vase' by Percy Bysshe Shelley!") continue for more than five seconds. To this day, all I know of that poem is, "Hail to thee, blith spirit! - BAAAANG!"

8. Explain a relationship between two people (not necessarily romantic) from show #5, and why you like the relationship between them.

Neverwhere. I love Door and Richard's relationship as it develops. I love that it's *not* romantic. It's *not* sibling. By the end it *is* deeply loving and close and safe. By the end they are at a point where they are as emotionally close as lovers and as best friends. It's a point where were they suddenly to kiss, nothing would fundamentally change between them; it wouldn't make a difference to the way their relationship functions. Were they never to kiss, it wouldn't make a difference to their deep closeness. And I'm indifferent (in a good way) to the direction it's going to take next.

9. If the lead title characters (first name in the credits) from #1 and #3 were both drowning, and you could only save one, who would it be?

John Crichton or George Lass? Fortunately I am saved from this difficult question. I'd save John Crichton in any eventuality (sorry George), but at least I don't have to feel guitly about it since George is *already dead* and therefore can't drown. Or at least, stop walking around because she drowned.

10. If you could change the title characters' order in the credits for #4, what order would you choose?

In my head (based on my preference for their acting abilities and interests in their characters) the new BSG lineup would be:

Mary McDonell (Laura Roslin)
Tricia Helfer (Number Six)
James Callis (Gaius Baltar)
Edward James Olmos (Adama)
Katee Sackhoff (Starbuck)
Jamie Bamber (Apollo)
Aaron Douglas (Tyrol)
Michael Hogan (Tigh)
Tahmoh Penikett (Helo)
Grace Park (Boomer)

Yes, I added three, because they deserve to be in the credits. And yes, Grace Park is last. I don't dislike Boomer and her acting is much better this season, but she's the one link in the show (in my opinion) where the acting is saved by the writing.

11. If you were able to add a new character, any kind of character you wanted, to the storyline for #6, what would the character be like and what would their role be?

Firefly already has kind of a huge cast, but I suppose with the recent...vacancies, I could add someone. I'm going to be horribly unoriginal and add the Operative. Because I find the idea of him quite interesting, especially now he's principles and disillusioned. I hold *no* illusions that he'd actually fit in on Serenity, or really have a function except possibly to piss off Mal, but smile about it. I am not, however, going to justify my choice, because it pretty much boils down to my inexplicably HUGE crush on Chiwetel Ejiofor. So there.

12. What happens in your favorite episode of show #2?

I kind of have favourite *sketches* more than a favourite episode. In my favourite *sketch* (at the moment), the Muppet Glee Club sing "Temptation" by The Everly Brothers. Also, the one where they think the Ocean is being held hostage in an apartment in downtown Newark.

13. If you could kill off one of the characters of #1, who would it be and how would you do it?

The Farscape character I would kill is probably John. Because that's the ultimate end to his story, really. I don't like it, but it's kind of *right*. I'd kill him at the end of Peacekeeper Wars (even though that would prevent my AWESOME crossover described above from ever happening) because it would justify his terror, and be a *genuine* shock and be...right somehow. Like ending it with the drive-by shooting in Bad Timing was *right*. I mean, I'd hate it, and as I showed in another answer, I instinctively want to *save* John Crichton from death, but I think in the end, I'd like PKW a lot more if he'd died. And then Aeryn could be terrified about taking care of Little D on her own, and somehow make it back to Earth, only to have *that* all go downhill as she gets almost kidnapped to a lab and she has to go into hiding and...oooh...discovers LONDON BELOW!

BECAUSE SHE WENT TO EARTH BECAUSE OF THE SCARY UNREALIZED REALITY VISION JOHN HAD OF ISLINGTON TAKING OVER THE WORLD! THE CROSSOVER LIVES! Um...Yeah.

14. If you got the chance to visit the set for either show #3 or show #5, which would you choose?

Difficult. Dead Like Me or Neverwhere. I think, despite how much I'd love to visit the DLM set, I'd have to vote Neverwhere, because apparently Neil Gaiman was there all through filming, and the possibility of bugging him about writing the sequel combined with the fact that most of Neverwhere was actually shot and filmed beneath London in abandoned tube stations and stuff makes that one the irresistable choice.

15. So, I saved the best question for last. If you could date anyone from any of these shows, which show and which person?

Well, I have a boyfriend, and he is awesome. But he did give me permission for President Roslin to be my television girlfriend. So, probably her. Unless the Operative from Firefly (well, from Serenity) gave me a better offer.

Wasn't that an AWESOME MEME?!

Becka.
