Required TV roundup!

Hiro! I'm really wondering how Ando's going to explain to the museum dude why Hiro's writing in a blatantly modern style. Or rather, because I know that written language doesn't always easily reflect the nuances or informalities of the spoken word, how he's going to explain why this guy seems to be writing about helping his childhood hero participate in stories he heard about...as a child. Since that's what Hiro's voiceover seemed to say. Or something.

Mohinder and Matt! (SQUEE! See new shiny icon courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] nightxade) ZOMGTHEIRLOVEISSOWHOLESOME! And, you know, angsty. WAKE UP, MOLLY! No. I am not being coherent and have no desire to be so. So there.

On the other hand, once they are no longer on screen together:

Mohinder: you have trusted the Company with what you care about most. You're toast.

Matt: You trusted your dad. That's bad.

(Honestly, the rhyming there was accidental.)

Nightmare man is...interesting. I'm wondering if he has a different ability to Matt or if Matt's ability really will morph into the ability to force hallucinations/bad trips on people. I thought Matt's nightmare was really touching, actually. I believed him when he was protesting that he didn't know he was the baby's father to dream!Janice, but there's clearly more going on there. Until it's revealed, I think the most likely scenario is that Janice told him the kid wasn't his (possibly out of anger during a fight/hard time after he returned following the events of season one?) and he was too scared to look into her mind to see if she was lying. Probably at the time lied to himself and said it wouldn't be right to invade her privacy like that but the truth is that he was scared. And now it haunts him, in case he's done what his father did. And he's scared he'll do the same to Molly; scared he's already done the same. POOR BABY.

Mohinder didn't really do much except hand his kid over to Satan, but while I admire his nobility he's seriously about to blow his cover if he keeps trying to bust out patients right there in the middle of the Company.

Also, WAKE UP MOLLY! I'm hoping Matt can bring her round since his ability seemed to make him more easily able to snap out of the nightmare/wake up Nathan? But for serious, Maury was going to let his son get killed? That's harsh, dude. No grandparental visits for you. Except, wait, you already PUT HER IN A COMA. Bitch.

Robin Oracle! Except Micah can skip the whole tragically-crippled part out of the equation.

What would Monica Batman do? Head down to the docks and beat up some dock-workers! Hop to it, Monica!

Now we just need Uhura to reveal what her power is. Damon can have a power or not, I don't care too much about him at this point.

I'm sure other things happened in this episode (blah blah blah Peter blah blah Peter's new girlfriend who I'm still convinced has issues surrounding attraction to violent men blah blah Veronica Mars is a sociopath blah blah) but I can't really remember them offhand so I'm going to ignore them! :) Oh, except that TRAGICALLY BAD bluescreening of Daddy Bennett in the Ukraine. OMG are effects still that bad?!

All in all, I quite liked that episode. I think that until he's clean and sober again, Matt and Mohinder should consider fostering Nathan. Or at least letting him play Drunk!Uncle Nate for Molly. I like him and Matt together. (Err, not in that way. Matt has eyes only for Mohinder. And, due to guilt, creepy dream!Janice).

Meanwhile, on House, I still like this show. And am presuming that yes, LSD girl really did just overhear about the dog. I LOVED House's reaction to "Grandpa Walt". But even though I've seen comparatively few episodes prior to this season, I really miss Chase, Cameron and Foreman. I'm not sure why; I know they're still there. But there's not enough of them. I miss seeing what's going on in their lives.

Though I do love the idea of Cameron picking and backing different team members to screw with House's selection process.

Foreman's back now, though. Is he back on House's team? When Cuddy was trying to convince him not to leave, she offered him his own diagnostic team, but I assume that's no longer on the cards. Does this take up a space on House's team? Will only 2 of the newbies get to join?

I'm really sad to see Bosley go, though I guess realistically he was never going to get in. Still, I liked him. I can't stand Cutthroat Bitch. I guess she's interesting as a foil, but even though I find Thirteen a very dull and dreary so far, I'd rather see her on the team than Cutthroat Bitch and I'm guessing the rules of television gender means that we're going to end up with one of them. Plastic Surgeon (does he have a nickname?) and the Black Mormon seem to have the most screentime and development of the others and of the two I far prefer the Mormon. The Surgeon is just whiny and not very interesting. Then again, Kal Penn (again, does he have a nickname?) is Kal Penn and while not a huge star, I'd have thought they'd hire him for a bigger role than "underdeveloped shortlister" so I'm thinking he'll be in for some development soon and might well score a job? Even though at the moment, again, blah. I don't know anything about him.

So again, pretty good episode. Keeping my interest!

And that wraps up my obligatory TV spam! Though I feel I should admit I went and got a paid LJ account. I feel sorta dirty... But the icons! They're so pretty! *runs off to upload more*

Err, hang on, before I do that, can anyone explain why - at 7:30 in the evening, when it's pitch black outside because it's nearly NOVEMBER, there is an ice cream van playing it's little jingle?! Is this like, FBI secret surveillance or something? Addy just came in and said there were pictures of ice cream painted all over the side, but really old-fashioned like. Not proper commercial stickers of anything. Just weird paint. I'm creeped out.

I thought there was a fair amount of Cameron and Foreman time this week given how many characters they have at the moment. Chase has always felt like odd man out to me. He's the lease likely to have a story focus on him of the three.

Foreman had his chance at some independence (and more money!) and blew it. My take was he was back relegated to being part of House's team. And knowing House, he won't allow Foreman's experience to give him any superiority over the newbies.

Btw, I know who survives to become series regulars. ;)

Hehe! Good point...

Btw, I know who survives to become series regulars. ;)

Argh! How you taunt me! I MUST KNOW! Or, you know, maybe I shouldn't spoil it... ARGH!

(Sidenote: all this is somewhat undercut by the fact that Addy is currently playing camp Hugh Laurie in his British Youth 1980s comedy skits on YouTube. Seriously, prior to House, had I been told that Hugh Laurie would end up as a sex symbol to thousands, I would have...well there would have been laughter!)

Well, if you want to know, let me know. Meanwhile I'll be amused by you not wanting to be spoiled. :p

I have these moments where I wonder exactly at what point did the Prince Regent become hot? I will say that Hugh Laurie, imho, is one of those actors that has gotten better looking as he has gotten older (I throw Jamie into that category too ;), but, still, it's weird.

Mohinder is so cute but SO FREAKIN STUPID!!! ARGH. He's like "ok let me shoot Niki with the taser so she doesn't kill the bad guy and get away and then try to bust her out anyway." wtf? If he gives Monica the virus, I will be Ever So Mad.

I want Caitlin to have a power too. Like... the power of intense Irishness. But I think she's just going to be this season's Simone. And I really really REALLY want to know what Angela's power is. (So far, out of the Company founders, 3 of the 6 we've met have DEFINIELY had powers -- Linderman, Bob, Maury -- 1 is SUSPECTED -- Deveaux -- and 2 SHOULD have powers -- Angela and Kaito.)

Word. Double word in fact.

I want Caitlin to have a power too. Like... the power of intense Irishness.

She totally already has that power... But I agree with you about the Simone thing. Perhaps Peter's true power is accidentally killing his girlfriends with him emo angst?

And yeah, I will CRY if Angela and Kaito don't have powers. CRY.

Molly's two daddies are both thick as bricks. She should be grateful that she doesn't actually share genetic material with either of them.

I would like to note that despite my love for their non-related family-unit, the use of this icon is ironic!

That said, I agree with you, and have yet ANOTHER reason we should be glad of the set up: I might have mild crushes on both of Molly's daddies, but that doesn't stop me being very glad that they already have a child and thus will not feel moved to pass on said genetic material to any other unfortunate child.

Not much to add to Heroes. I'm not feeling the love just yet as it's all moving kind of pedantically.

As for House, that episode actually was entertaining, though I was disappointed in how pointed Old Guy's actions were. Bitch is getting on my nerves but she works well if she's playing off of 13. There's one guy there that I had no idea about. Don't even recall seeing him. No discernable personality yet. I'm assuming Cameron and Chase will become more useful in the future. They aren't really doing anything integral now. Well, Cameron's bet was interesting, but Chase just kinda says "no i'm not giving you advice" and that's the end of it. Meanwhile Foreman. Aahhhh Foreman. You have to suck it up big time now. Will be interesting to see where this goes because of course House is going to know why he's back and will ride him on it.

*gets Lindermann to revive you*

I'm sorry to hear that. I kind of understand what you mean, though fortunately I'm quite enjoying it. Perhaps because I have a TV buddy for this show for once? Perhaps because I remember last season I though the first set of episodes was moving frustratingly slowly and then all of a sudden, I was hooked and could not stop watching. And I'm expecting that to happen again. Maybe if it doesn't I'll be irritated. We'll see...

is getting on my nerves but she works well if she's playing off of 13.

I totally agree. They're good together but utterly boring alone. So I hope House keeps both of them or fires them both.

You have to suck it up big time now. Will be interesting to see where this goes because of course House is going to know why he's back and will ride him on it.

Yeah. As Asta mentioned above, House won't give him any special consideration - the opposite in fact. He'll have more experience but be treated like dirt. It's gonna be fun. Or perhaps I'm just eeeeeeevil...

Then again (to be a little less shallow), maybe Foreman will be pissed enough it'll trigger some more proactive changes in his behaviour? I haven't been watching this show for long but Foreman always struck me as the kind of guy who pretends he's proactive and direct but is actually very passive and just accepts a lot of stuff, but then gets mad about it and stews, instead of doing something about it. Which is why I liked (or at least found very interesting) his decision to leave, finally. Now, being forced back, it'll be interesting to see how he responds?

I'm not sure what it is about Heroes right now. No that's not true. What I loved about it last season was the OMG I TOTALLY DIDN'T SEE THAT COMING factor, but really, that didn't come until the second half. So you're right, I really have to be patient.

Right now, I'm not feeling surprised by anything (other than Kensei being a white guy). We already know that EVERYTHING is CONNECTED so it's no longer a shock when Claire's Rogue ends up rescuing the Bobsy Twins who then rescue Sylar, or West has hate for the Horn-rimmed Glasses, or *ultra shock* Matt's Daddy tricked them! *gasp*

BTW you know what really annoyed me about last episode? Blurry Haitian! He and Daddy B were just walkin' around Paris (was it?) and then when Daddy B gets on the phone, they couldn't even give the Haitian the courtesy of being in focus!

Foreman: He certainly learned humility pretty quickly. It was interesting what that one administrator said about him not even being sorry. And everyone made it pretty clear that he totally is House. I guess where things go really depends on what position he is given. Surely he's not going to just be under House again. He's beyond that now. And hey! Why not have two excellent diagnosticians in the same hospital! Imagine! TWO freaky cases EVERY WEEK!!!!
