hahaha!! awesome! there was a lot of man pain in this ep, huh? the divorce theme is so fitting for that.

this reminds me that i totally didn't get the cat thing. did he just fake the cat's death? did he kill his cat so lee would accept the presidency?? what was going on in that scene?

Don't worry though, the cat thing totally confused me too. Near as I can tell, and this is after plenty of thinking about it and being confused, mind, but near as I can tell:

Romo's cat gets killed and this turns him into a crazy, bitter cat-hallucinating lawyer who is so bitter about this turn of events he doesn't want Lee to be president because he thinks all of humanity should just roll over and wait for death, because clearly life without that cat he hates is not worth living!

But then Lee says something about Romo's dead family and Romo decides that as long as Lee promises to be the bestest president EVAR, he won't shoot him.

So Lee gives Romo a puppy.

And I think that about covers it. Though like I said, I may be misunderstanding. I was powerfully distracted by the sheer hilarity that was Tigh & Adama...

hmm, okay, but when did the cat get killed? weeks ago, as romo said? so the cat that was always running around in this ep was just a hallucination? so confusing! i thought romo's moment of crazy totally came out of nowhere.

The cat had been dead for weeks like Romo said. I've seen people speculate that some person was still angry at Romo defending Baltar and took that anger out on the cat. Essentially, Lance was Head!Lance which puts Romo in the running for being a Cylon. ;)

And I suspect Lance may have killed himself with the prospect of living in that domestic nightmare.
