Date: 2008-09-23 11:23 am (UTC)It's my favourite speech too. I saw the Matrix when it was first released. I was thirteen or fourteen I think, and I had NO idea what it was about before I went into the cinema. And even after all the crazy mind-twisting reveals, the genius weird way Smith described humanity as a virus really stuck with me.
I'm especially glad that the POV shots and the screaming humans worked for you. The POV shots I think turned out much creepier than I anticipated, and the silent screaming turned out much...prettier? I thought it'd just be ubercreepy but instead it's kind of creepy because it's so wrong that it's...sort of beautiful? Creepily beautiful?
Anyway, thank you for your feedback: a joy to read as always.
