SIIIIICK. Urgh.
Nov. 21st, 2008 07:11 pmJust a note to apologise for being way behind on all forms of correspondence and comment-repliery, I am SICK AS A DOG.
And basically sick days don't really exist at my school. If I'm sick enough to go to the doctor and get a note, yes, I can get time off, but a) I have to pay to see the doctor and this notion is alien and scary to me b) the doctor probably won't speak good English c) were I in the UK I might go and try to get some cough syrup/night nurse type stuff on prescription at this point because this cold is RIDICULOUS, but it is just a cold, and basically I think the only I'll get told is "VITAMIN C AND SLEEP."
Plus if I ditch off of school, there's no one to cover for me or any such sensibleness. Which is stupid because then we all work when we're sick and give it to each other. Whatever.
Right - I'm off to turn up the heat. And hope I get better over the weekend. *snuffle*
*pathetic look*

Date: 2008-11-21 10:51 am (UTC)The doctor's here speak decent English. The one we use actually went to school in Chicago. Ask at your school and see if they know someone.
CHEER UP NEWS: My "verb of the day" for my low-level intro class was "clap". HOURS of HILARITY, I tell you.

Date: 2008-11-21 08:10 pm (UTC)Get well soon! (((Becka)))
(I honestly don't understand the 'no sick days' policy. In what way does it benefit a company if sick people come to work and infect all their colleagues etc.? Is that *really* good economic sense? - BTW, I used to have a colleague who didn't believe in staying home when sick, either. I think she thought she'd get fired immediately if she dared admitting to having a cold...)

c) Seriously, health care is super cheap if you've just got a cold. And trust me, even if it's the sniffles, they'll give you a packet of mysterious vitamins. This is Korea, they <3 medication.
