Gacked from
grav_ity - this one looked superfun!
Give me a character from any fandom, tv show, movie, book you know that I know and I will tell you:
a. My favorite thing about that character.
b. My least favorite thing about that character.
c. One person I would ship them with in their own verse.
d. One crossover ship for them I think would be neat.
e. One crossover universe for them I think would be even neater.
f. Their ship from hell.
g. Their song.
h. The title of their biography or autobiography.
i. The last bad dream they had.
j. How they're gonna shuffle off the mortal coil, if they haven't already.
Since this is such a blackhole of BSG most of the time, many of you may not actually realise that I do like and watch OTHER SHOWS and books and stuff. Other things I at least know well enough for the purposes of this meme include (but are not limited to because I've almost certainly forgot some so if you know I know something anyway, just go for it!):
Farscape, The X-Files, Pushing Daisies, The Middleman, 30 Rock, House, Bones, Harry Potter, Star Wars (including the EU), most things Star Trek, Harry Potter, Pirates of the Carribbean, Firefly, Dexter, um...most big superhero blockbuster movies, Dune, Lord of the Rings, and...I think I'm stuck. Though as I said probably more.
ETA: Obvious ones I missed! *facepalm* Terminator: the Sarah Connor Chronicles, Babylon 5, the Whoniverse and Fringe!
Yay meme!

Date: 2009-06-01 04:30 pm (UTC)a. his hope, the way he never stops trying or gives up on his friends.
b. SO DIFFICULT because John is awesome. I guess my least favourite thing about him is that even though he'll do anything to save them, a lot of times, he gets them into trouble in the first place. Mostly I don't blame him, but sometimes he gets completely blinded by wormholes and other people pay the price. I can't really hate him for it though because he usually understands what he did all too well.
c. John/Aeryn. OBVIOUSLY.
d. John/Sarah Connor. I think that this would play up the quieter, more serious side of John rather than his joking pop-culture, I'm-laughing-so-I-don't-have-a-breakdown side?
e. PIRATES OF THE CARRIBBEAN. Can you imagine Moya joining the Pirate Fleet? It would be FANTASTIC and EPIC. And the East India Trading Company would have made a deal with the Peacekeepers. And Wormholes would be giant water spouts!
f. John/Grazya. Unoriginal, perhaps, but truly, a SHIP FROM HELL.
g. The song I'm planning to vid (please no one reading this steal it!) - Gunz Yo by Sage Francis.
h. If it was an Autobiography it would be something witty, popculture-y and hilarious. But I'm terrible with titles, so I'll wuss out and title the biography written about him on Earth after he left: "Shot through a Wormhole: the only AUTHORISED account of John Crichton's journey."
i. Everyone dies. And it's all his fault, because he failed.
j. I'm sure it's an unpopular opinion, but I always thought he should have died at the end of the Peacekeeper Wars!

Date: 2009-06-01 12:24 pm (UTC)Debra Morgan.
no subject
Date: 2009-06-01 04:50 pm (UTC)a. Her CONSTANT SWEARING! It makes me feel less bad about mine.
b. I wish she had more confidence in herself and actually went out and found her own leads more often (like she did with the tree-trimmer, finally, in S3). It often looks like she's a mid-rate detective stealing tips from her brother instead of the really ace cop I know she is.
c. I don't particularly ship her with anyone actually. I liked her with both Old Dude from S2 and Anton. Although all her romances are totally professionally inappropriate one way or another! I think I'll say Debra/Anton though.
d. Debra/James T Kirk because that would be FUNNY. And Debra would be all into his swagger but would remind him he was a dumb motherfucker if he tried to swagger too much.
e. Battlestar Galactica! She is a nuggest and Starbuck has to train her and her odd mix of ballsy and physically awkward/vulnerable would be like 10x better than Kat! In this crossover, I think Dexter has to replace Baltar, except obvs, he does not feel bad AT ALL about all the death and Head Six is Head Harry Morgan. Which makes Laura Roslin into LaGuerta? Oh dear. o_O
f. Debra/Rudy (Brian). Kind of obvious, but nonetheless true.
g. I'm on a Boat - The Lonely Island. I only just found this song cus of an awesome Star Trek vid by
h. "That's Detective Motherfuckin' Morgan, Bitch," would, I think, be the title of her autobiography.
i. Classic anxiety dream where she turns up to work in her vice hooker outfit and finds out Angel wasn't serious about giving her her shield.
j. To break from the slightly more upbeat silly tone of the meme, I think actually, that Dex has to kill her. Her son is going to die without a heart transplant but he has an extremely rare tissue type and they can't find a match. Debra tries to kill herself so her son can get her heart, but fails and hasn't done anything except totally destroy her own liver so now, she too will die without a transplant. So at Deb's request, Dex finishes the job. Her son lives. Dexter feels a moment of remorse and wears dark sunglasses at her funeral. /horrifically depressing AUs.

Date: 2009-06-01 05:07 pm (UTC)Okay!
a. GEEKINESS! *hearts*
b. The way she doesn't stand up for herself and point out to the rest of the team that she (and occasionally Ianto) are the only half-competant employees in that giant shiny pillar, and quite frankly, they ought to put her in charge because then maybe fewer people would END UP DEAD.
c. Is Tosh/Science a ship? I don't really ship her with anyone. I kind of want her to have a succession of flings in the manner of James T Kirk as she travels through known space and time being awesome.
d. Tosh/Susan Ivanova (another fandom I forgot *facepalm*). I can't explain why but I think they would be adorable!
e. Does "My Life" count as a crossover verse? Can I just wish her into existence? Otherwise I'll say...Star Trek because even though it would bore me to tears, she would be happy with all those gadgets.
f. Tosh/Owen. DIE IN A FIRE TOSH/OWEN! DIE!
g. "The Passenger," by Iggy Pop. I...cannot explain my choice very well except that I've always thought it was a great song for someone stuck on the outside, but the song has all the agency and confidence I wish Tosh could have found (I mean, not immediately; her dorktacularness is of great appeal to me, but I wish that was the arc they'd let her story begin to take more strongly before the fail of her ending). Either way, my subconscious will not let me choose anything else.
h. "Empress of Scotland; Pawn of Time." (For an explanation, see the crack AU you requested, below.)
i. Dying alone, while no one notices. *keeps straight face*
j. Okay! So what happens is, after Tosh DOESN'T die in that episode but instead recovers from her gunshot wound, she decides she's had enough of working for an organisation that blackmailed her into the job and goes off to visit her mum. Who lives next door to Donna Noble. Of course, Tosh's crazy inventions/stuff she totally stole from Torchwood, start triggering Donna's memories and her timelord personality parts.
Fortunately for Donna, before she burns herself to nothing she recognises both the Risen Mitten, a couple of other alien artifacts, and Tosh's innate genius. Donna scribbles some equations on the wall before dropping into a coma. Tosh then spends a few months deciphering these equations and modifying the Risen Mitten to bring Donna a) back from brain death with b) the mental fortitude to cope with her timelord half.
As thanks, Donna invites Tosh to help her construct a TARDIS and join her as her companion, which Tosh readily agrees to. The first thing they do is create hilarious paradoxes by arriving in the episode with Queen Victoria FIRST and being so competant and polite to her that the Queen gives Tosh a minor barony in Scotland. Tosh leaves it in the hands of a steward, and returns to the present only to discover that somehow, her barony took over the entirety of UK and thus the Empire, which never broke apart. Tosh now rules Britannia.
Donna is somewhat worried about this and insists on going back to fix whatever went wrong, but Tosh has to stay because Donna doesn't trust the regent to the throne and knows Tosh will at least be a sane ruler.
Unfortunately, Tosh dies of old age before Donna gets back. On the plus side, she dies fairly happily having FINALLY been put in charge of Torchwood. Since she is, you know, the Empress, i.e. the office that started Torchwood in the first place.
..was that cracky enough for you? ;)

Date: 2009-06-01 11:13 pm (UTC)e. Haha! Yes, I bet Tosh is a Trekkie for the gadgets (and secretly has a crush on Spock
cos he's the stereotypical Asian science nerd to her computer dork).i. IT WAS ONLY A DREAM.
j. Hee! EXTREMEcrack ftw!!
Thank you. ::reads other comments::

Date: 2009-06-01 05:24 pm (UTC)HEE! I totally should have stolen that for my Farscape answer and said something about the dying ship with all those replicated clone zombies eating the Pilot!
Okay! Luna Lovegood!
a. Her serenity in the face of...everything.
b. How passive she sometimes is when people treat her really badly.
c. I don't really have one, but I think I will buck what I know of fandom trend and say, Luna Lovegood/Dean Thomas. I have no real reason for this except that Dean always struck me as a decent sort of ordinary guy and I like the idea of Luna being all awesome and Luna and weird to the exasperation/adoration of a bog standard, decent, ordinary bloke.
d. Luna Lovegood/Jake Sisko. Not really for any reasons pertaining to JAKE but just because I'd love to see Captain Sisko's reaction to his son bringing LUNA home for dinner!
e. The Middleman. She'd fit into that universe of weirdness perfectly. In fact, I think that Lacey might be Luna's older cousin.
f. I can't really think of an anti-ship for Luna since...I don't know, nothing really seems that horrific or offensive. NO WAIT. Luna/Snape. Because the idea of Snape with ANYONE is just horrifying and cruel.
g. Somewhere Over the Rainbow!
h. "The Search for the [crumple-horned snorkaxx*]" *I don't actually remember the name of that creature her and her dad were always searching for!
i. She dreamt that she was back in the cell at the Malfoy's mansion, but this time, she didn't have her friends with her.
j. Probably she dies at some point after middle-age when she gets too close to one of her fabled beasts and it eats her. As she dies, she reflects that she is perfectly at peace with this outcome.

Date: 2009-06-01 05:41 pm (UTC)a. His compassion.
b. His enabling of House.
c. Um...I guess I could ship him with Cuddy?
d. Wilson/Angela from Bones just because I'm CRUEL and it would be hilarious to watch him be all flustered.
e. Wilson should totally exist in the Buffyverse and be a Watcher!
f. Wilson/House. I know a lot of people get it and like it, I just...don't. I think mostly because Wilson's loyalty to House is his least appealing feature to me and liking that is kind of a pre-requisite to shipping them I'd imagine. Or at least finding it dark and unhealthy and angsty which I don't either?
g. Oh lord, I have no idea! Total Eclipse of the Heart because I'm feeling ridiculous!
h. James Wilson: the Man behind the Legend. :p
i. He dreamt that House left him alone for good. At first he thought this was a good dream but by lunchtime he realised it was a nightmare.
j. He contracts some surreal and unlikely disease which House diagnoses in time to save him but no one will listen because he's just another 89 year old crazy at their shared Old Folks Home.
no subject
Date: 2009-06-01 06:34 pm (UTC)Wilson could totally be a watcher! He'd be so compassionate, though.
Total Esclipse of the Heart! Now you've got me thinking of that literal video I saw the other day. That's one crazy video, literal or not. The perfect song for Wilson. :-)
I like Wilson. And I like your end for him and the idea of him and House bickering until they are 80. Aww!

Date: 2009-06-01 05:49 pm (UTC)a. EVERYTHING. Um, but to be more specific, the way she manages to be completely in control and take complete and absolute responsibility for everything without it ever turning her into any of the stereotypes for women in power (Frigid Bitch, Manipulative Bitch or Emotional Wreck).
b. The fact that she tolerates Bill Adama!
c. LAURA/LEE!!! (And failing that, I would be happy with Laura/Maya which was TOTALLY CANON.)
d. Laura/The Operative from Firefly. I would die, people. I would DIE of the Hot on my TV screen. MY TV SCREEN WOULD BE AFLAME. Also their personalities would interact in fascinating ways.
e. Babylon 5. Imagine her sparring with Delenn over politics. *takes cover*
f. Laura/Adama. If you have to ask why, you don't know me! :p
g. It would be very easy to choose any of the songs I've already vidded her too and in truth, my musical playlist is nowhere near as wide as it ought to be. I think, though, I'll choose a song I intend to vid her to (please no one steal it!) - "Crumble," by Sage Francis. Or at least, she will be half of that vid, but I still think it's a good song for her. Especially in 4.5. It's like...the emotional core of what Laura in 4.5 should have been?
h. No one would have the guts to publish it until decades after her death and it would be called "The Myth of Earth."
i. After she found Earth burned to a crisp, she stopped having nightmares because even the bad dreams were better than reality.
j. She dies of cancer before she ever sets foot in the Promised Land.

SARAH CONNOR!
also, this meme is awesome. *ganking even though i just did a meme and probably shouldn't*
no subject
Date: 2009-06-01 06:01 pm (UTC)Okay!
a. That she is tough as nails without destroying her own soul.
b. I have to pick something? Okay, her communication skills with her son suck sometimes, although that's at least half his fault and they're both working on it.
c. SARAH/ELLISON. I refuse to justify it because that would imply there are alternatives.
d. Sarah/Sam Anders. He's be as patient and loyal to her as he is with Starbuck and dear lord think of the beautiful angst and confusion when she discovers he's a robot.
e. BSG would be too easy, but...it's also so perfectly beautiful I have to choose it.
f. I don't really have an anti-ship for Sarah. I think Sarah's anti-ship is John/Cameron, though. ;)
g. Oh, argh, songs. I have no idea! My mind has just thrown a complete and total blank. I think pretty much anything by Tracy Chapman would fit though. Fiction in the Space Between (or whatever it's called) might be a perfectly heartbreaking look at her very conscious choice to ignore certain things while simultaneously never letting herself ignore them.
h. "Madwoman or Messiah: a technological manifesto," would be an unauthorised biography co-opting her message into radical anti-authority anarchy against her will and quite possibly also something produced by Skynet in order to discredit her as a terrorist crazy person.
i. The images change but every night she dreams of John, embraced by machines, because she gave him to them.
j. "Sarah Connor" dies a few years after Judgement Day. It's a lie. John Connor died, so Sarah took his place as leader of the resistance, with a new identity, and that's why no one ever actually sees John. Of course at some point, she has to really die. Probably in hand to hand combat with a Terminator. But don't make me write it down. *snuffle*
YAY MEME! *enables you shamelessly*

just cuz i'm very new to the fandom...
Date: 2009-06-01 04:35 pm (UTC)Re: just cuz i'm very new to the fandom...
Date: 2009-06-01 06:15 pm (UTC)a. Her bravery.
b. Sometimes I think the writing of her crazy kickass action hero girl goes a little bit toward fanservice.
c. I really don't ship her with anyone because she's too young for pretty much anyone on the show she's on (isn't she like 16?) and because she's totally nuts. I ship her with doing crazy things like fixing Book's bible! River/Things that Make Me Laugh! No, wait, I think I could probably ship her with Kaylee too.
d. I'm going to ship her with Grown Up Nicky Tyrol who is the same age as her JUST BECAUSE! :p
e. I think she should show up as a Pattern victim on Fringe and that's why she's kind of crazy like she is now. And Olivia could adopt her like that creepy bald kid.
f. I have no idea if anyone's ever so much as suggested it but I think the idea of River/Book would make me run screaming into the night.
g. Bury My Lovely by the October Project.
h. She never has a biography, she never writes an autobiography. There's just a folder pertaining to her test results safely files away at Alliance HQ.
i. In her last bad dream, she ate something wrong and it was alive inside her so she threw it up. But no one understood; they thought she was sick, and tried to put it back inside her.
j. No one is entirely sure how River Tam dies. One day, she buys a ship. She spends months, maybe years, refitting with modifications everyone except Kaylee Frye says will never work. And then she leaves. No one ever hears from her again. When Simon cries about it and pretends he isn't, Kaylee tells him that she looked happy and said she wanted to explore.

Date: 2009-06-01 05:37 pm (UTC)LIZ LEMON!
no subject
Date: 2009-06-01 06:26 pm (UTC)a. She's hilarious.
b. Her selfishness, although really it's less her selfishness and more that I don't like having to watch through the horrifying situations her selfishness gets her into.
c. Um...I'm kind of torn between Liz/Jack cus it's unoriginal but entertaining and sweet and Liz/Dennis cus...he's the beeper king! He's hilarious! I like the actor and despite the fact the guy's a total jerk and full of himself, he does genuinely seem to have an Anderslike devotion to Liz just...filtered through a whole wadge of jerkitude.
d. Liz/The Middleman! That would be fucking hilarious. He'd be the perfect straight man to her ability to get herself into increasingly insane situations.
e. I kinda want to see Liz Lemon try to start up a comedy sketch show on the Colonial Wireless in the BSGverse and have it fall flat on its face because, well, what's funny about the end of the world? (Or perhaps have it become wildly successful and then watch as she convinces
McCainTigh to stand for President and becomes his VP...)f. Liz/Floyd! Eeew! I hated Floyd. He was all...I dunno. Something about him I didn't like. He was a mixed mess of self-confidence and no self-confidence. True he was, on the surface, a nicer guy than Dennis, but I felt he was a hell of a lot less honest.
g. ANYTHING by Chamillionaire, obviously!
h. Actually I think that Liz Lemon would write Tracy Jordan's biography and I have no idea what it would be called but it'd be full of digs at him he'd never notice and then Liz would be wracked with guilt about them and would try to like, burn all the preview copies at the eleventh hour or something.
i. It started out as a classic stress dream where she goes to work naked. It turned into a truly HORRIFYING stress dream when she realised Frank was also naked.
j. Hopefully peacefully in her sleep as an old woman having achieved all her life goals. I want good things for Liz. Otherwise I might cry!

Date: 2009-06-03 07:19 am (UTC)Wow that rings so true. And I kinda liked parts of Floyd. well, I liked his drunken endorsement of Tarzan on Ice. And his taste in women (Anna Chlumsky childhood crush AND Tina Fey?)... anyway, the only part I really knew about why he bugged me before is how he acted so *entitled* in the relationship. I kinda want to see Floyd get punished now.

Date: 2009-06-01 06:38 pm (UTC)I very nearly asked for Alia Atreides out of sheer curiosity. ;)
no subject
Date: 2009-06-02 03:58 pm (UTC)a. Her forthright intelligence.
b. Her arrogance, but only when it causes her to make mistakes. Otherwise I love her for being so (usually justifiedly) arrogant.
c. I did actually ship Sikozu/Scorpius because I thought it was interesting and made total sense. I'm still mad that they had Scorpius betray her in PKW for reasons that made no sense (Sikozu, a Scarren spy? SRSLY?! PASTEDE ONYAY) because the actor playing Scorpius wanted to make Scorpy more villainous when what made him most interesting was that he...wasn't. *gnashes teeth*
d. Sikozu/Alia Atreides. ;) No really, I think that could work, actually.
e. OMFG, I've got it: Sikozu in Life on Mars (um, the UK version, I've never seen the US version). That would be...unbelievable. Sikozu vs. Gene Hunt. FOR REAL.
f. Sikozu/D'argo. WEIRDNESS. o_O
g. Helicopters by the Barenaked Ladies just because that was the song used by the - in my opinion - definitive Sikozu vid by a vidder named fieryhands but I can't find anywhere the vid is still hosted. :( But anyway, it was marvelous.
h. "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective Kalish."
i. Universal Scarren Domination.
j. Kamikaze exploding while doing that heat ray thing, and taking Scorpius out with her.

Date: 2009-06-03 05:16 am (UTC)OMFG, I've got it: Sikozu in Life on Mars
*blinks* I....think I have no words for how awesome that would be. Wow.
Shame about the vid, I haven't seen nearly enough FS and Sikozu to that song? Yeah.
