And also blueberries (though at least my parents remember that one). And tea. Tea is not such a big deal in America but trust me, in the UK, it is enough to get you labelled as anti-social in an office environment because the tea-run is like their...pack-bonding ritual or something.
THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG WITH ME!
(Also I hate prawns, but I maintain that's less weird than the hot caffeinated beverages/fruit dislikes.)
I detest prawns. They're all...slimy and a weird texture. And they're called "prawns." And sometimes you can see their veins. *shudders*
Also, that is a lot of Pepsi. Is this the debris from one vid?! What did the debris from BSR look like?!(?!)
I worked in London for a summer a few years ago and had to start drinking tea out of self-defense, otherwise everyone thought I hated them or something. :/

YES. YES. YES. The last time I tried to eat a prawn my gag reflex actually went off. I think it's mostly the texture though I also hate the flavour. And the slime. And the veins. And living in Korea where there were prawns (and other icky seafood) in EVERYTHING.
Also, that is a lot of Pepsi. Is this the debris from one vid?! What did the debris from BSR look like?!(?!)
Dude, that's the debris from like...two days of vidding! I drink way, way, way, way, waaaaaaay too much diet soda. Especially when I'm vidding. Probably explains some stuff about my vids. :p
I shudder to think what the total BSR debris would have looked like since I worked on that thing on and off (but more on than off) for like...three months if you include all the extras and stuff. O_O
I worked in London for a summer a few years ago and had to start drinking tea out of self-defense, otherwise everyone thought I hated them or something. :/
And then suddenly it's YOUR turn to make the tea. The idea that you don't really know how to make tea because you never ever drink it is beyond them. The idea that you don't instantly understand whether it's normal to add one sugar or two or how much milk is "milky" or how much is "a splash" or how long you leave the teabag in to make it "strong" or how soon you take it out to make it "weak" is INCONCEIVABLE TO THEM.
*cries*
The plight of non-tea-drinking Britons, man. It's a hard, hard world.
Hmm, actually though there was a time I didn't like blueberries; a little too sweet. I still like tend to like the small, sour ones the best. So do you have any offbeat likes, or is it just the berry-aversion?
Yeah, I think that's it for me too. Not so much I find them too sweet but I do find their brand of sweet...sickly? And they're kind of grainy or gritty or something though no one ever understands what I mean when I say that.
And yes, prawns are shrimp. I think actually there's some kind of species difference there, like shrimp are smaller or something, but basically they're the same thing.
Offbeat likes? Um. I like anchovies, and I think those are pretty unpopular? Also, McDonald's french fries dipped in McDonald's milkshake are absolutely heavenly but no one ever believes me. The same way they never believe me that the time Kev put an entire cherry pie (including crust and everything) in the blender with a pint of orange juice he made the most awesomest drink IN THE WORLD. But I think those last two are just people being unwilling to try it rather than actual weird taste-enjoyment.
What weird things do YOU like?
Maybe I should like...make a post about this since LJ is dead. *considers*
The same way they never believe me that the time Kev put an entire cherry pie (including crust and everything) in the blender with a pint of orange juice he made the most awesomest drink IN THE WORLD.
I believe it! That's a pretty daring blender experiment, though.
What weird things do YOU like?
There's not a whole lot that's edible or drinkable that I don't like, fortunately or unfortunately. ;) Anchovies, (only in moderation though), eel, raw lemons and limes, liverwurst back when I ate red meat, peanut butter and tomato or peanut butter and red onion sandwiches (they're delicious, I'm telling you!) X
Blender bravery through desperate boredom, I think! We were living in Plymouth at the time. There is NOTHING to do in Plymouth.
Apple pie and milk is also pretty good but not as good as cherry pie and orange juice!
Yeah, anchovies you can't really eat too much of. But eel? I gotta confss I've never tried it but it always looked so rubbery... But then I'm a fairly fussy eater as you may have gathered by now. ;)
Peanut butter and tomato doesn't appeal so much (though I'd try it!) but I can kind of see peanut butter and red onion actually! I should try that!
I also just remembered my mom used to make me cream cheese and honey sandwiches all the time when I was a kid and I honestly have no idea if that's like an accidental crosscultural thing like peanut butter and jelly (weird in the UK, NATIONAL INSTITUTION in the US), or if that was just her being weird again. (She also used to put raisins in everything). Have you ever heard of that?
No, no cream-cheese and honey; I've never heard of that. Though I bet it's delicious. Cream-cheese and jelly, yes.
So we speak the same language, but you guys don't do peanut butter and jelly?! My world is askew. Do you put peanut butter on sandwiches, just without the jelly?! *mind reels*
And I've never heard of cream-cheese and jelly though again I bet it's delicious.
As to us speaking the same language, well, not quite ;) Because if you said, "peanut butter and jelly," over here, people would think you meant, "peanut butter and Jell-O," and would look at you really weirdly. We call it "jam". And peanut butter and jam is no longer quite as weird as it was when I was a kid and all the other kids in school thought I was some kind of sandwich freak cus my mom kept making them for me, but yeah, it's still something most people know as, "that weird thing they eat in america," rather than "YUM!"
FOOLS THAT THEY ARE.
*hearts PB&J*
Though yes, we do still eat peanut butter in sandwiches, either on its own or with something else, though I can't think of anything that common. Peanut butter and banana is reasonably common, I think?
