I...totally see what you're saying, but I think it's the fact that I could participate if I read up on the appropriate way to phrase everything that makes me stay away? Because I do think I'm mostly approaching all of this with honest good faith and an open mind, but that doesn't seem to go very far in the wider world of these discussions, and that scares me enough to keep me away, even if I *could* learn the accepted way to engage. Which isn't to say that I don't *understand* why there's an accepted terminology/way to talk about these issues, but it can serve as a barrier to discussion.
