No news, except my dad's a carrot?

beccatoriaDUM DUM DUM, it's been almost a week since I posted anything. This is because I have nothing new, really, to post. I finished a Fringe vid! But I think I'll wait until after VVC insanity has died down before I post it. Speaking of, new vids! Perhaps even some in fandoms I am familiar with! WONDERS MIGHT NEVER CEASE!
I'm also halfway through another DW vid, but dude, I do not know wtf I am doing with it. I have a sneaking suspicion I am making a lord king bad vid. Really. And a worse suspicion that I don't even care. *facepalm* We'll see if it survives to see the light of the vidding comm.
I continue to watch Leverage but not really be inspired to post lots about it. It's fun, it's entertaining, I love them all, but I don't have a lot to say partly cus it's not that type of show and partly because I'm still waiting for something to kick me in the teeth with awesome. I do wish Sophie had more to do this season. All the others have had an ep to focus on them - it's her turn now!
I continue to be excited about the Fringe spoilers coming out, vague as they are, and to keep my fingers crossed that they don't screw this one up. But that's nearly two months away and there's not a lot new to talk about, and my Epic Olivia Vid will, I think, have to wait until the footage the season two cliffhanger promised me materialises. (Or I swear, I will GO TO THAT SET AND FILM IT MYSELF.)
I continue to be completely and irrationally in love with River Song, and more than that totally thrilled that my attempts to coerce everyone I know into likewise falling in love with her seems to be working. But there's only so much OMFG I LOVE HER that I can post, so I'm trying to hold off until I feel I have something substantive to say. Other than, of course, I love tumblr for the gorgeous graphics it gives me, but it makes it very hard to know who to credit when it seems to have been reblogged half a dozen times. THIS MAKES MY PLAN TO COMMUNICATE SOLELY BY WAY OF MACROS OF RIVER EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. I'M JUST SAYING.
So, yeah. That's me.
In my real life, it's still looking like a serious probability that I'll lose my job, which sucks, because I can wear jeans to it and how many jobs is that true of? However, it's now looking slightly more likely that I'll be unemployed in the new year rather than in October, which is a marginal improvement. Whatever, I'm trying not to stress about it, there's too much else stressful in my life that might Go Wrong, so yeah. Whatever. WHATEVER RECESSION, I DO NOT HEAR YOU BEARING DOWN ON MY BANK ACCOUNT. Though I had been hoping that 27 would be a better year than 26, which was, frankly, a bit crap, what with it containing some of the scariest moments of my life (dear god that sounded melodramatic - it's true but also, let's remember, I don't live in a warzone). So, year, you have four days left in which you're allowed to suck. AFTER THAT I SHALL BE 27, AND WILL EXPECT BETTER FROM YOU, WORLD.
Also, my dad went to the Eisteddfod (sidenote: Firefox's spellchecker recognises Eisteddfod: I find this hilarious) for some work-thing like he usually does, but I couldn't tag along on a free ticket this time cus I had to work, which sucked because I wanted to buy some shirts from the Cowbois stall.
So, I say, "Dad, will you get me the jumper with the joke about the carrot?"
And he says, "Yes, I will indeed get you the jumper with the joke about the carrot."
I will mention at this point, the jumper with the joke about the carrot is a joke that revolves ENTIRELY around the welsh world for carrot meaning something very different in English.
So, if someone asked you to pick up a visual gag jumper ABOUT A CARROT, would you (a) get them the bright, carrot-coloured orange one, or (b) get them the one that is pale blue because you're afraid the first one is too bright?
Yes, people, yes, my dad got me the pale blue one. AND got me a t-shirt even though I wanted a jumper. Bless him I know he was trying to get it right, but REALLY.
Now I'm just an girl with MORON written on her chest. It's the orange that makes it work! You see it and it immediately shifts your frame of reference and you read it as "welsh-for-carrot" not "synonym-for-idiot". Now you have to be staring at my tits so you can see the tiny little picture of the carrot.
*stamps feet*

Alas that, weirdly, while I've actually Quite Gotten On Board with New New Who (at least with regards to certain aspects), I have absolutely no desire to write fic. And the only other Doctor that's coming to mind is the Seventh at which point a Rubbish Souvenir is likely to be absolutely terrifying and part of some seven-layered plan that would drive me insane if I knew its true scope... o_O ;)

I think I might have found space for her in the back half though. FOR SHE IS EPIC AND MIGHTY AND ONCE, I HEARD, BEAT CHUCK NORRIS IN A STARING COMPETITION. ;)

I will be forever grateful to you for being like, oh hey, I know you stopped watching this season of Doctor Who after the first couple eps, but you might want to try parts of it again. <3 <3 <3 It is awesome to watch people watch River, and go, I quite like her, then, she's pretty awesome, and then, OMFG RIVER HOW SO AMAZING? Everyone I have suspected would like her so far has found her as amazing as I do. Also I'm pretty sure I'll be talking even without anything substantive to say, so there's that.
Re: your job, I am glad you get to defer stress a little bit? Maybe with more time, things could even work out? *is a little bit hopeful*?

In the meantime, I'm getting sad that I've been SO successful there's almost no one left to watch go through the progression of interesting--->awesome--->OMFG RIVER>EVERYTHING EVAR.

Re: jobs, there is a tiny sliver of hope it might work out but honestly it's pretty tiny. Mostly the issue is just the work on the contract we currently hold is actually likely to continue past the official end date because of run-on and stuff. So it's not actually new news, just clarification of old news? That's not even 100% clarified? Or something? *attempts not to care*
Also, ONE DAY, I will get that damn jumper! And then I shall wear my ridiculous slogans with pride! ;)
