FABULOUS. I love the ghosty motion thing--it really makes the longer shots really visually interesting, in addition to setting the whole thing off balance just a little. She could be sneaking up behind you at any time! This is both brilliant and hilarious, like all the best things. I especially love the end, with the commentary on the misunderstood creatures. Meta!

Thank you! :D I was quite pleased with how the visual thing worked too (it's just an overlay fading in at the same time I move a pan&scan from skewed back to normal) - it felt like there needed to be something going on to fit the tone of the music. I couldn't have put it into works, but yeah, off-balance is a great way to put it. Plus...meta! At least a little meta! SHARK META! :p

Thank you! I'm so glad you like it! I love using motion in vids, because back when I started I was mostly vidding BSG and I've never gotten over the loss of the camera motion in that series and now I always worry my vids are too static so thank you that's lovely to hear!

I'm hopeful to at least add one more vid to my Symphony of Science trilogy, but we'll see - it will require s2 footage, I think.

POINT ONE: I am so sorry for our EPIC FAIL in replying to your email! It took me a week to switch computers and I've been all discombobulated (if you ever find a great guide for porting all your OSX/iCloud data over to Linux, please send it my way). Finally starting to return to the present now!

POINT TWO: I don't know what we could have added though because THIS VID IS PERFECT. GUH THE EDITING! What is that jumpy/dreamy transition you used? It contributes to the overall watery effect that sets an ideal tone for your serious!crack!theme. Just ravishing! The shifts/parallels between Storybrooke and Fairyland are elegant as always.

POINT THREE: I hate to break it to you, but you have made a REALLY DIRTY VID. The "bite of the great white" parts just kill me. And Regina fighting Emma eeeeeeeeeee! You are my favorite accidental femslasher.*

POINT FOUR: Last but not least, this vid manages to be a really profound character study! I don't think I ever thought about the analogue between the image of the beating heart and the image of the apple as Regina's weapons until you placed them side by side. And I also have such a soft spot for the ending. SHARK META!

POINT FIVE: Laaaaaaaady do the third one! Second half of season 1? I promise we'll be better with beta this time.

POINT ONE: Dude, there is no problem, I gave you about twenty minutes to get back to me. ;) And sorry, but I have no recs, because you are a dirty Mac user. :p

POINT TWO: Awwwwww, yay, so glad you like it. The jumpy/dreamy transition is just something I made fiddling with overlays, pans and zooms. I copy-pasted the crossfade between two clips (and a little before and after it) onto an upper track, panned and zoomed in at the start of the copied section, reset the pan/zoom to normal by the end of the copied section, then faded the copied section from 0% to near 100% by the end, so that it came into, err, "focus" as it became clearer. Does that make sense? Ugh, it'd make perfect sense if I could *show you* what i was doing.

Anyway, point is, I'm really glad it worked and that you like it. Serious crack forever! ♥

POINT THREE: ...I had a vague idea*... ;)

POINT FOUR: Awww, yay. Regina's character is so interesting. I don't think they always manage to walk exactly the line between making her violently evil while still understandable (for instance I still think there was a misstep of focus in terms of explaining where her hate for Snow comes from), but that conflict is just...so potent on Lana Parilla's face. I'm intrigued by the promise in the season premiere that Henry is now realising that this Evil Queen thing isn't just a way to act out against a mother he has a complex relationship with, but an actual real, unavoidable, frightening thing that has left him with a gaping wound in his life. I felt, for the first time, that his ultimatum to her at the end of the episode, came from a place of wanting it all to be untrue, and for Regina to prove that she is still his mother, rather than wanting to act out and run off to someone who would show him love in a more conventional way. ...at which point I'm babbling. YAY SHARK META?

POINT FIVE: I'm totally gonna! The song metatxt suggested is just too amazing not to. But I think that it might be S2 footage that I need to make it work not just late S1. So I'll probably try to start it after the hiatus at the end of the autumn? We shall see!

*sometimes when we vid together though, it's not accidental at all. :p
