Okay, I'm super confused about whose castle is whose and who's ruling what.

Right before the curse gets cast, we know that Regina isn't queen anymore, so I kind of figured that Snow was the queen and Charming was married to her so he was a Prince. We know he's still a Prince because everyone, including himself, still calls him that, but people are way more ambiguous about Snow's title. We also know that even if it wasn't public knowledge that he was really the son of a shepard, his "father", the King, is still alive, so clearly he didn't inherit that throne either.

So that would all make sense, except for the part where Snow's father's castle is on the side of a mountain and Charming's Not!Dad's castle is the one in the lake with the bridge to it - which is also the castle Snow and Charming are apparently ruling from after "taking back the kingdom".

I kind of assumed they were trying to take back Snow's kingdom, and Charming's Not!Dad's troops were just getting involved annoyingly due to his Charming-related grudge. But since they appear to claim his castle, am I wrong? But in that case, surely Charming would be a King? Not a Prince Consort?

Unless they stole back Snow's kingdom, then conquered Charming's Not!Dad's kingdom, THEN decided that a palace by the lake is totally more blinging than one on the side of a hill?

I'M SO CONFUSED. WHY IS IT THE WRONG CASTLE?

Actually I'm confused because I think it is? I mean, Snow and Charming were ALWAYS in the castle by the lake, far back as the first episode, but that's ALSO the castle Snow storms with her army of fairies, dwarves and werewolves to rescue Charming from his dad, only to discover that he traded her to the Queen and he's not actually there? Unless I'm remembering totally wrong?

But yes, awesome lady road trip ftw! :D

In the clip of the clouds surrounding the castle, it's not Knifingham. I think? I'm really tired.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW ANYMOAR *criez*

It certainly looked like it to me? Like when the fairies were flying towards it, it had the same sort of in-a-castle-with-a-bridge feel? But at this point I genuinely am just confusing myself more.

Is its actual name Knifingham? Did I totally miss that?!

ETA: WAIT SORRY - I thought the wrong one was Knifingham; yeah it's not, it's the palace that they rescue Charming from, but that's the same palace they appear to be living in in the Pilot? Hence the confusion...

Knifingham is the one with the pointy towers, so called by the TWoP recap because it sounds like Nottingham, which sounds like a story place that might have a castle. ;)

And yes. They rescue Charming from the castle which they later live in when the curse is cast. Last season, Snow was all "Let's take our kingdom's back!" and I was all "I can see so many ways this ends badly, but you're pretty!" and...I guess they took Charming's kingdom and forced the Evil Queen to retreat? I got nothing.
