Flist, you are failing to entertain me! At least two of you are supposed to taking advantage of my excellent minion skills and I'm sure the rest of you could be making things and posting things JUST TO ENTERTAIN ME, yet here I am, driven to making ANOTHER VIDLET because, well, actually because of this superawesome vid that reminded me the Flobots exist and the awesomesauce that they are -

so say we all I (Handlebars) by [livejournal.com profile] kiki_miserychic. Do not walk, run, for it is mighty.

Also apparently I can only vid Laura Roslin to rap music. Who knew.

[livejournal.com profile] spiralsheep, you are exonorated, for I was HIGHLY entertained, but the rest of y'all, I have like four and possibly five weeks of nothing-to-do before I go to South Korea, and aside from a week where my awesome friend is coming to stay I'm at a total loose end. I'm trying to mediate my LOOMING TERROR at moving to a new country and starting a new job thousands of miles away from everywhere I've ever lived and anyone I know in a place where I will not even understand the writing, by being too busy to notice. This means Projects.

So here's the deal.

1) I have commitments to both [livejournal.com profile] projectjulie and [livejournal.com profile] asta77 re: making some vid type stuff probably over the next few weeks, but that's also not something that will fill my every waking hour.

2) I still kinda want to finish that BSG story I started a few weeks back and have half-a-plot for.

3) Even minus a week when I'll be largely AFK, that still leaves me with two or three weeks of...nada. So if any of you have a story you want written (original or fanfiction), or a vidlet idea or...well I don't think I do much else fannish, but the point is, if you think I can do it, ask me. I might well say, "Okay," and get around to it this month, and be grateful for the distraction.

Anyone remember that last time I accepted prompts and ended up writing all kinds of cool crap about Amelia Earheart being kidnapped by alchemists and Zombie Cows and Han Solo's trousers and how Maya was Sekritly an Oracle and desperately in love with Laura Roslin? This could be just as cool as that!

So yeah.

Go watch that awesome vid, and then COME BACK HERE AND GIVE ME THINGS TO DO!

Thank you.

My brain is overloaded with legal and tax crap and can't do anything fun or relaxing, such as think of fic prompts, at the moment (apart from occasional lj threads about Chiwetel Ejiofor, and thank you for that), sorry. I LOVED what you wrote for me last time. ♥

Oh, hey, it was ENTIRELY MY PLEASURE. Also, I already said that got you out of "entertain becca!" duty. Though I'm sorry that your brain is overloaded with legal and tax crap. :(

I'm really glad that you enjoyed what I wrote last time: your prompt was awesome, by the way. I remember the blinding panic when I read it and had NO IDEAS and yet I'm absurdly happy with the way I "solved" it. So, yeah, doubly gratifying that you still remember it after all this time. /nostalgia.

Possibly I shouldn't have buried my request for entertainment in a long, rambling post about reccs and all sorts of other stuff, but feh *prods flist* y'all'll still be there later if I'm still bored when my current spate of activity dies down.

*hugs flist*

Ha, your comment triggered my brain.

Writing prompts:

1. Something featuring a photograph but not themed around memories or nostalgia.

2. Quote, "You can judge a man by the quality of his enemies." - Ben Aaronovitch

3. Based on one of these pictures: http://www.flickr.com/photos/spiralsheep/favorites/

#2 is obviously a firefly refference - well, it is if you judge a man by the quality of his PANTS...

*sigh* why isn't it 5 o'clock yet?
roll on my week off...

YAY! Thank you!

I'm not going to be getting through these at the breakneck pace I did in January but these are great prompts that I have no idea how to "solve" yet which worked awesomely for me last time.

I'm going to try and do at least two of them (maybe all of them!) before I leave.

Thanks for recommending Handlebars, for it is truly excellent. I have already watched it many, many times.

I also want to say that I found your vids after watching Ghosts recently and I really like them. From Tricks to Fast Car, your vids make me feel and being moved by a fan vid is just as important as shiny clips (and you have those too, so yay!). Your vids make me remember why I love BSG and just how far the characters have come. Thanks for making the vids and giving me much to watch during this hiatus.

I've recced your vids at my journal too. Thanks again. :-)

OMG isn't it awesome?! I'm glad that my rec managed to get it some new viewers!

Also, thank you so much for letting me know you appreciate my vids! As well as wow, you recced me? That's awesome: thank you again!

It's weird that you should mention Fast Car - my first BSG vid - I was thinking about it a lot while making Tricks because...well, I'd come such a long way in learning how to make videos (not to mention the aspect ratio issue in Fast Car still makes me saaad), so it's really nice to hear that simple and old though it is, it still entertains someone. ;)

Thank you again for leaving feedback.

if you were any good with flash, I would have a prject for you - something to do with my last post, which I should really get around to actually fleshing out...

apart from that, some random ideas...

tigh & six - the untold story, in which tigh asks six if being a skin job is as bad as the humans think, and she responds by asking if being a human is as bad as the toasters think.

hybrid/kara/laura, talking about seemingly being in control, but actually reacting rather than acting.

lee/zarek - concerning how a hot young gunslinger becomes an old, jaded politician

Alas, I have absolutely no idea how to do anything with flash... :(

But thanks for the ideas! INTERESTING. I will definitely be checking back with this post and everyone's prompts when I'm bored this month!

YOU KNOW I ALWAYS HAVE IDEAS, BABY. Terrible, terrible ideas, it's true. :D Ooh, you could combine stories with CULTURAL RESEARCH and write about spaceships in feudal Korea or a story where Buddha was secretly a robot or OH HEY A STORY WHERE BUDDHA HAS TO LEAD A RESISTANCE MOVEMENT AGAINST INVADING ROBOTS FROM OUTER SPACE in 500 B.C.E. and reconcile his fighting tactics with his ethical teaching with much angst OH OH YOU WOULD BECOME MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE IN BUDDHISM INDEED. :D

Omg, I can't believe I somehow missed that you're going to South Korea. Possibly I myself was out of the country when you announced it. Or maybe I'm just crap. WHO KNOWS. But GOD, it is going to be exciting. *hyperventilates slightly on your behalf* Is there a details post somewhere that I missed? I want to know where you're staying and exactly what you're doing and stuff!

BLOODY HELL WOMAN THAT IS EVEN WEIRDER THAN THE ALCHEMICAL HIJINCKS! EXCEPT MAYBE NOT! I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO WRITE THAT BUT I WILL TRY AND MAKE IT MAGICALLY APPEAR BEFORE I LEAVE!

YOUR CRAZY IDEAS WORKED WELL AT MAKING MY BRAIN DANCE LAST TIME, SO LET'S HOPE IT HAS THE SAME EFFECT THIS TIME!

Also, I don't remember if there was ever an official post thingy, but basically, I can't get a job I don't hate and isn't underpaying me so me and Kev are headed off to South Korea where they will hire pretty much anyone to be an English Teacher because we figure it'll be weird and scary but better than never doing anything like that and living in shitty rented accommodation and doing shitty underpaid jobs for the rest of our lives. Basically it's a, "OMG this is our life now? WE SHOULD DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS!" plan. Though it's taken about six months to get off the ground due to doing a distance learning course and such.

Anyway, the latest development is, we just returned the contracts, etc., for a job starting at the beginning of August, so...as long as there are no last minute glitches I guess I'll be going in about a month! o.O

I'll be teaching very small kids (like 5 - 7) and I will have NO IDEA WHAT I'M DOING. But I will TRY VERY HARD because I THINK IT COULD BE AWESOME even though I am also UTTERLY TERRIFIED.

your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to do [livejournal.com profile] thearchive2's challenge(s).

and/or you could remix one of the sections of this story (preferably not the already-remixed one, although that's probably your favorite).

also, I would like to you see WALL-E and then write a BSG crossover! (maybe he's the last Cylon, and it's for [livejournal.com profile] thearchive2's crossover challenge.) that was [livejournal.com profile] furies's idea.
