I shall be AWAY for the next 4 DAYS. I know, I know, as an internet-powered cylon from the future, this is a dicey choice at best, but I think I should be okay.
I'll probably get online for like ten minutes or something to check my email tomorrow, nominally in case I have Job Info from a Temp Agency, but obviously I have OTHER PRIORITIES.
I'd be really, really grateful if any of you could leave comments to this post after BSG tonight relaying any plot points that you think I'd find awesome/awful/interesting? I don't need extremely detailed blow-by-blows, just a quick summary of things that I'll care about would be awesome?
In some ways this is probably for the best: I'm horribly nervous about this episode so getting people to pre-watch it for me is possibly the best plan anyway.
I'm pretty sure you all know me well enough to know what I care about, but in case, I am specifically interested in the following:
- Cylon Intra-Familial Drama
- Laura Roslin's reclaimation (or lack thereof) of her own awesome.
- Starbuck and that whole thing about how she came back from the dead and whether I'm psychic.
- FLIPPER.
Thank you!

Date: 2009-02-21 03:34 am (UTC)But I came running over here because Kara just said (to Chief): "Did you see Tigh and Ellen on the wing of that raptor? It was like watching MY PARENTS get it on."
Hee!
Flipper baby's name is Liam. Did we know that? That sounds familiar.

Date: 2009-02-21 03:55 am (UTC)And Baltar has just convinced Adama, Lee, and Laura to let him arm him his people. Something about fears of a blended ship. I'll need to catch more on rewatch.
OH! Sam is waking up! I think!
Huh. The Cylons are putting pictures of Cylons that have died in the fleet on the memorial wall.

DX
It was very, very sad.

Date: 2009-02-21 01:18 pm (UTC)Interestingly, it wasn't Caprica's pain that hit me over the loss of the baby, but Tigh's, especially with the big hug at the end. [Wil]Liam really did represent everything he loved. :(

Date: 2009-02-21 04:06 am (UTC)FlipperLiam. I was watching him, I swear! I don't really know why she lost him? Was she hungry? It wasn't clear. But he flatlined and is gone.Sam came back on line, though. I don't know. I don't know if Ishay had a hand in all this. Who knows, she wasn't in the episode.
This ep was very Cylony! But sorry about the baby, really.
*hugs*

Date: 2009-02-22 08:04 pm (UTC)It's true. Though Hera made it despite the alarming amount of trauma that Athena went through. It's hard to know if this was miscarriage due to stress or if they are trying to make a point about Cylon/Cylon procreation and/or the power of love. Or not enough love. Or something. It was puzzling.

Date: 2009-02-22 09:45 pm (UTC)Hera was older in the womb (the first four months are when a festus is likely to die), but still had potential to miscarry with the stress. I can't remember how old she was gestationally when Athena went into labour. The constitution of the mother has a lot to do with things as well, though often, and again very sadly, sometimes miscarriages have no apparent reason.
A friend of mine just lost a baby at four months in, and there was no where near this level of stress in her life. Meanwhile another just lost her third child in as many years. With the tragedy in the past, she was more than making sure she was healthy and calm, but sometimes, inexplicably, things don't work out.
Were I still pregnant, I could not have watched any of this episode until my baby was born and I knew she was safe and sound and healthy. Miscarriage is a horrible fear and the catch-22 is that fearing it = more stress... .:(

Date: 2009-02-21 04:21 am (UTC)There was much Cylon family drama over whether to stay with the fleet or leave. And lots of tense Ellen/Tigh/Caprica love triangling, culminating in sickbay where all three of them took it back and were ~Loving~ the shit out of each other as hard as they could in an effort to save the baby. Tigh broke my heart. I need to go mope again.

at least there should be some consolation in the fantastical polyamorous shenanigans of Quadrangle of D00M 2.0
